Thanks! I originally was going to go with brass but I'm glad I switched to copper, it was a lot easier to work with. Thank you for watching, I appreciate it!

Thanks for posting this one on the habaki! I have some mokume gane I just made and it might become a habaki. 😉
@Mysticmountainforge4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching! Mokume Game would make a gorgeous Habaki. I plan on building a jig before doing another one, it would make bending them a lot easier. I plan on doing a tanto soon so it would come in handy.

I’m sorry I’m new to forging and I’m making a habaki, what did you do at 2:00
@Mysticmountainforge3 жыл бұрын
No problem! Copper and brass will work harden and can crack or break so I heated it up to a dull red temperature in my forge then quenched it in water, this makes the metal extremely soft and easy to work which makes forming the habaki around the sword easier. Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!

What did you use for flux?
@Mysticmountainforge2 жыл бұрын
I used a pre made flux paste from the plumbing section at the local hardware store. I appreciate you watching.
