Coming from the experience as a welder/fabricator, I would suggest building a small compressor room attached to the outside of your shop. Even a little 25HP rotary will generate heat and noise that you will get tired of listening to. We also had good luck with a duct that would blow heat into the shop in the winter, and we could close it off in the summer. Also wire in some 120volts power to run the heat lamp in the winter time, while the machine is off to keep water separator from freezing. Keep up the hard work!!!
@danielvining3 жыл бұрын
So awesome this is the first comment I saw. I work in a print shop, and I was thinking the EXACT thing. Build a compressor room. Make sure the room is vented so the heat doesn't get to bad in the summer and cause problems with the compressor or air dryer. I'd suggest having a toolbox inside where the compressor was gonna go. You're ALWAYS going to need various tools. A 42" Craftsman roller will create a ton of tool storage, and provide a workbench area to fix things on. Add a bench vise to the top and have an air hose hook up near by. Good luck!
@leestuart383 жыл бұрын
I only need a 5hp rotary in here so it's basically silent, it's less db than a regular conversation. Like I said in the video a lot of this setup is temporary so I didn't want to build anything extra because it's all going to move within the next year. I'm already tapped out so I need to save every extra dollar I can haha

We love seeing your new upgrade space! Good work! We run out of a similar space in Oregon. The first thing we built when we moved in was a huge lofted area. We made plenty of room for an office, dry storage and also a vented room up there that houses the compressor, gasses (CO2 & Argon) and a solar battery bank setup. We highly recommend the extra loft space; It's like having a whole other building inside your building!

Coming from my husbands automotive machine shop... Every time you get new equipment or upgrade, there are at least 3 times you will adjust machine placement to get a better flow to production. Even if its just moving it 6 inches to the left. There is the whole production of cleaning; breaking out the leveling mic to get it nats ass level; and possibly moving electrical. So if you can drop elec from the ceiling as much as possible, it helps. Plan for future (as I'm sure you have) but in that same breath, you are gonna need twice as much space as you have now. You're like my husband. You plan for the next 5 years, but 3 years in, you outgrow the space and expand services. Start planning for your real dream because I think you are gonna need a lot more space sooner than you think.
@leestuart383 жыл бұрын
