There's a small detail about Frank that both yourself and Tat missed in this video that I believe adds to his character. He might not be the most self aware figure (or at least doesn't care enough to show it), but he can read others quite well and is a highly manipulative narcissist. This isn't outright stated in the lore, but to find the right group of kids to follow you even beyond murder takes a high level of awareness and cunning not found in the rest of the group.
@Silverwind87

It's also stated in his backstory that he enjoyed the attention he got from the high schoolers, because he was the oldest. This fucking loser has to hang around kids to feel validated.

I love this lore the only thing I dislike is don’t understand how one kill would catch the eye of the entity most killers have multiple kills or have 1 kill that was super sadistic. Frank an orphan probably decided to kill over a power trip and the rest was because of peer pressure these are actually studied reasons on why a child would hurt an animal. So I think frank finally actually having friends an a group for once sent him down a spiral where he thought he needed more power to get ahead so he killed joeys boss the rest of the group not agreeing with this until frank and others who hurt him(stabbing him 1 by 1) to convince the next person who has yet to stab him to do it going frank joey Julie Susie stabbing him one time each.

I'm actually okay with the Tome cutscene despite the continuity error because it emphasizes Julie's agency and the fact that she and Frank are arguably as close to soulmates as you can get amongst murderers. Frank offering Julie the knife is him offering her a chance to live their dreams of joining the big leagues of infamous killers and her painting the bloody smile on his face is also a callback to the original trailer when Frank paints a bloody smile on his mask after stabbing David, making it an almost kind of calling card with their smiley face pins and masks. And Susie and Joey were unfortunately just along for the ride and serves to make them the more sympathetic, reluctant members. Heck, I might be reaching with this, but I personally think their cosmetics paint Joey as a bit of a Geek (he cosplayed at a video game convention in the 90s, you had to be a major nerd to do that) and Susie as really insecure about her homelife and school life, meaning the Legion was probably their way of avoiding getting bullied in addition to being a group of friends. But yeah, I'd love to see a Tome explore Joey in particular, and his relationships with all the others (he was friends with Julie and Susie before Frank, how does he feel when Frank joins the group; what exactly is his relationship with Susie as they seem to constantly be portrayed as a pair in the Tome).

I think a lot of information on Susie was overlooked or just not mentioned. I’ve been able to come up with a few theories behind Susie with the small entries we’ve gotten from the flavor text contained within her cosmetics. Susie never had a happy life. Her home life is not ideal and she is envious of a neighboring family and how happy they are. School is no better. Susie is not popular in the slightest. She lacks self confidence and the one time she tried to act on her interests by joining the cheerleader squad, she gets ridiculed and bullied by the very people she hoped to join. Susie’s only positive relationship is to her best friend Julie. There initial meeting was most likely through an art class they shared together. Art and Julie were the only things Susie had in her life. That is until Frank joined the picture. The formation of The Legion gave Susie a sense of belonging. Something she had never felt before and she was willing to do anything to not only fit in but impress her piers. The Legion gave her confidence, confidence to make new designs and masks, confidence to act out on her own, confidence to get even with those who did her wrong, confidence to take what she wants. Susie is a devotee to The Legion. She’s the quiet kid that no one gave any attention to and was picked out as any easy target for abuse. When that kid is given a chance and supported by the wrong people, the quiet kid becomes very dangerous. The horror of Susie’s story is how grounded it is. She’s not some supernatural mass murderer. She’s a kid who got manipulated into a life of blood and debauchery.

I think the fact Julie remembers the incident differently is how she imagined or idealised it happened. Frank’s version is likely what really happened. She ultimately deceives herself to cover up her own weakness to herself. It’s a nice detail, whether it’s intended or not, it wouldn’t be hard to justify it in this way. Julie’s version has a lot of idealistic imagery and not how they would react on a kill like this, especially because it happened after she was taken by surprise and it was not premeditated. Whereas Frank’s version is far more likely of how it would go down. Joey stabs the cleaner either out of fear of Frank or desire to appease him knowing the cleaner was dead no matter what he did, Julie acts next out of following in the moment and Susie is forced into it.

At the risk of starting a flame war or a bad time argument, since the cinematics are formed from memories, and the base lore is from Frank’s perspective; could it not be argued that the cinematic is more how Julie remembers that night going versus how Frank saw it in base? This isn’t a multiverse argument since these are members of the same group, but people can often remember seeing things differently, and for Julie, she could have remembered stabbing the cleaner after Frank did as some sign of her love for him. Least that’s my hot take on it.
@Rexvils
@Rexvils 2 жыл бұрын
That’s actually a pretty good explanation for the inconsistency. To Frank, Susie hesitating to stab would’ve been more memorable than what he was feeling when attacking. Whereas Julie would be more focused on why Frank defended her like you said.

Honestly that is what I believe in too. Tome story we have is clearly Julie's interpretation of how things happened.
@Peachrocks5
@Peachrocks5 2 жыл бұрын
Yeah this is logical. I think Julie's version is idealistic though and Frank's version is what actually happened. If the murder was premeditated it would make sense but it wasn't. She was ambushed and likely blacked out the memory, she 'closes her eyes' after all in Frank's lore. Then after the fact she filled in the blanks herself and deceived herself. The reaction is simply not natural for a first kill whereas the way Frank's lore tells it is much more likely. It could be Frank was embellishing too though and that neither version is accurate.
@slots777
@slots777 2 жыл бұрын
@@Peachrocks5 This exactly. Especially since these are teens, they likely are overblowing some of their own memories in order to make themselves look good. I feel like if we ever get tomes for Susie and Joey, we might get even more of the same or a more clear picture. (Either way could work for me since a lot of Susie's cosmetics talk about how she killed or at least injured some people when in the lore we know she was forced to kill the cleaner. With multiverse theory it could make sense, but even then, I want to know more about what she and Joey felt that night.

I remember back when the cutscene first released that there was a theory about how the entity was twisting how Julie remembered it. With the inconsistency with the order and how Susie and Joey go from horrified to fine with it in seconds. On top of that there is the sexiness(?) of it all that seems out of place towards the end of the kill.
@Peachrocks5
@Peachrocks5 2 жыл бұрын
I think this is natural reaction and nothing to do with the entity (for once). Julie hated her weakness in the moment and doesn’t remember it clearly so convinces herself of a lie. This kill was not premeditated and came after Julie was ambushed. It simply doesn’t make sense for her to react that way. The way Frank’s lore tells it is likely what happened.

As a Legion Main, specifically Susie, I have a lot of thoughts about their Lore both together and individually. One of my favourite things about Susie is that a lot of her backstory is implied; she's artsy (as seen in her neon cosmetic), clearly shy or socially awkward (her menu animations and her reluctance to kill) and she's obviously a bit of an outcast, being a friend of the Legion (Julie and Frank give me a certain vibe), having dyed hair back in a 90s high school and being willing to commit minor crimes with a friend, typically Joey. My issue though is that Susie's lore is inconsistent. I've seen people defend this by saying everyone "expects her to be uwu innocent soft bean" when she's "probably as bad as the others", but there is a big difference between an inaccurate character reading/fanon interpretation and actively conflicting Lore. The Legion have one confirmed kill, the cleaner. But Susie stabbed a man in the back and left him to die during Lunar New Year. In her artsy neon cosmetic, it sounds like she uses blood for her art like some kind of House That Jack Built type thing. It's something I think all of the Legion suffer from, all these inconsistences. And obviously there's the argument about the multiverse, but why show us two different Susies in one game? I still love Susie, and she's a wonderful character that I personally feel a lot for and is the reason I play in the first place. But it can't be denied that there is no concrete Legion lore, and that SOME characters (cough JOEY cough) don't get enough attention as others to an insane degree. I hope any of that made any sense-

I personally headcannon Susie as a child of divorce who is expected to be at high academic success but in an artistic sense. That was fit the “artsy” characteristic of her character. Her Christmas sweater cosmetic says that she hated that her neighbor’s had a nice family Christmas, so being from a divorced family would explain that reasoning and give her a motivation for appearing to be shy and meak but harboring a lot of rage against those she believed thought were above her.

@Rexvils 2 жыл бұрын
@@_ares_587 haha glad you enjoyed it! For Joey it’s been established that he’s raised by a single mom in his sweater cosmetic but that Christmas had a “fake” cheer around it. I personally believe that his mom is a bit of an absentee parent for “good” or bad reason and so Joey doesn’t feel close to his mother at all. His motivation for rage can be inferred to be a result of discrimination since he frequently got fired from jobs and for as small as a reason as stealing a candy bar, you could argue he got blamed for the theft because he’s African American. He hates the way the world seems to be against him, a young black man seen as a delinquent from a broken family, so he causes trouble with the other Legion members.

Basic psych All 4 kids are disillusioned losers who instead of having faith in the meritocracy (if we push hard we can get out of this small town and make something of ourselves) they feel they are not strong enough to compete with life Being kids of the 80s-90s they would have yuppie or blue collar parents who were working “hard” and believed in the meritocracy Late 90s teens were angsty kids who didn’t believe in their parent’s/grandparent’s BS, were hyper competitive and had little concern about the feelings of people they didn’t like because that’s what society told them was the way to think Kill or be killed, dog eat dog, no one cares if you aren’t a winner Frank had seen more of the world and exhibits the “Dark 3”. He has learned to manipulate weaker minded/less ambitious people Julie also exhibits dark 3 traits but lacks the worldliness of Frank. Her affection with Frank is as close to such as she can muster Her love is transactional. It is about what her connection can do FOR HER when she does something for someone else She is calculating and predatory but lacking money, power, connection or physical size she has to be more crafty This is the difference between her and Frank Frank is jaded and doesn’t care. Julie is getting there but she’s more angry about being bored and feeling owed, more as a general concept of her psychology. Frank was actually abused, Julie was not So Frank is proactive while Julie is manipulative Joe and Susie have weaker personalities because they HAVE weaker personalities They are followers. Plain and simple This is most likely based on abusive patterns from their family. Neglect etc. Their ideals are faced with ridicule when not just ignored and so they just follow stronger personalities that at least acknowledge them First Julie, and then Julie stroking Frank’s ego sets him as alpha and so they now follow both This is…… if they even exist There is the fan theory that Joey and Susie are figments of Frank and Julie’s imagination Manifestations of their own personalities

Susie not wanting to stab the janitor, but be perfectly fine with stabbing/hurting others; you could say is Susie choosing to ignore/or simply not see the consequences of her actions. Yes she stabbed a person before, but she didn’t outright kill them. Last time she saw them they were bleeding out, but alive (even if they died later). Witnessing the death of the janitor and being a direct part of it, highlights the consequences of her actions and the true weight of death. Everything she did before she may have seen as victimless (ie the cheerleader(s) deserved whatever she did to them, thus she didn’t see them as victims). This paired with her low confidence you could say made her freak out.

I like the feeling that each member of the Legion remembers things subtly differently. Each is practical in their own way and each romanticises certain aspects in their own way. Frank is a foster child, bounced around a lot and the practicalities of getting into trouble probably matter less to him which is why Julie is more practical about avoiding getting caught and having proof. When it comes to the stabbing itself to Frank it's probably more important to keep tabs on everyone performing the act because that is something that binds them together as a group, as a family, that can't just send him away again. To Julie it's probably a romantic notion that Frank offered her the knife and defended her and cemented her view that he is her escape from Ormond. If Julie was asked "Did the others also use the knife? " at the time her opportunistic nature would have noted she was third in line, but thinking back? The impact may have simply been Frank offering her the knife. Just a shame Joey got pushed out of frame for it. Is it weird I really hope they reveal his last name soon?

Despite the missing information and inconsistencies, I still main and love them, and always will. (I´m kind of guessing what you see that is wrong about them, couldn´t even watch yet) At very least, each member needs a proper tome that would fix some problems. (After watching the video) I really like that you included Tat. What I believe in is, that given Julie´s personality, this might actually be the way she is willing to tell the story. With the manner she acts and actually imagines killing someone while the rest of the Legion is by her side, it really looks that way. But, I truly wish that we could get tome chapters for Joey and Susie, as they might also tell the story in a bit of a different way, perhaps focusing on different times such as Susie getting bullied, snapping and getting her revenge on the cheerleader (as her rift outfit implies), or Joey and the way how he interacts with the rest of members. What I believe in is, that there is much more left untold, and it really is about time for us to get all the puzzle pieces.

While having intricate and detailed lore is cool and can create very interesting characters, I don't think having lore that's a little more vague is necessarily bad. Leaving some details to peoples' imaginations can work great for some characters. And I think the members of the Legion work really well like that. I think a lot of people cling to a character like Susie because we don't really know a ton about her, but what little we do know about her can be quite relatable; she's timid, lacks confidence, is artsy, and is the youngest in the group, which I can imagine may make her feel like a 3rd wheel a lot of the time. That's not a ton to work with for canon stuff, but I think a lot of people can see themselves in Susie. And the same goes for the other characters as well. It also helps that the 4 Legion members are...for lack of better words, kinda the most "human" killers at the moment. Yes, most of the killers are humans and most of them have things that people can probably relate to, but The Legion is ultimately just a group of teenage delinquents in a small town. They're simple and more relatable by comparison. And there's nothing wrong with that. That's not to say I don't want to see more lore for them, I'd personally love to see a Tome from Joey or Susie's POV, because I think it would be interesting to have insight into how they view someone like Frank suddenly showing up into their circle of friends. And maybe I'm biased, but I feel like a killer that consists of 4 different people at least deserves a second Tome to help flesh out more of their group.

That is actually easy to answer. None of the wounds she ever caused before were fatal (it is not stated anywhere that she went for a kill), or at least they were never intended that way. Even tome is consitent in this one and states, that she was fine with causing serious injuries. Janitor was the first kill, and with clear intention to kill. That is completely different situation. Also, if she didn´t even kill her cheerleader bully who tormented her, why would she want to kill a janitor that she have nothing to do with, or random person on Lunar new year? Difference between these two is, that unlike the Lunar new year dude who most likely survived, janitor was unlucky to have Frank around to force her into killing.

The Legion's lore (as well as their very beginner friendly gameplay when I was first getting into playing killer) is what really drew me into them. I love reading the little lore bits that are attached to each outfit, the tome that revealed Susie's last name and gave her almost a mini-tome story in her costume and charm descriptions, et cetera. That being said, the tome's cinematic INFURIATES me. I remember seeing it the first time and just being confused - "What? But isn't Joey supposed to go after Frank? Wait, only two of them attacked the cleaner at all.. This doesn't make sense! Surely this wasn't just an oversight?" which eventually grew into frustration as it felt like such an obvious thing to be overlooked. Despite the cinematic being hot trash (although the animation in itself is awesome) I did really like the tome. And with more and more characters receiving additional entries in the tomes, I look forward to a future tome that focuses more heavily on Susie a bit, but ESPECIALLY Joey. He is criminally undercharacterized. I think the most we know about him is his taste in music and (thanks to a very cool bit of info on his Season's Killing sweater) that he has a single mom at home and frequently leaves the house to cause trouble and take his mind off of it. And also that he supposedly is a fan of a video game character named Atlus Flint, so much so that he cosplays as them at a GAMEPLAY EXPO IN A TOWN WITH 6000 PEOPLE. IN THE 80'S. but whatever. cool fit i guess. and P.S. GIVE JOEY AND SUSIE THEIR OWN DAMN VOICES ALREADY SHEESH Great vid as always Pixel.

here's how I see it: Frank is the instinct of the killer, Julie is the brains of the killer, Susie is the heart of the killer and Joey is the brawn of the killer. it is clear that Frank is leading them on an almost primal level: therefor the instinct; the first impulse that guides. Julie is very observative and streetwise: therefor the brains, because she is more calculating. Susie is shy and more caring, almost putting her feelings in front of everything: therefor the heart, as she seems to be the main pull-back preventing legion from going on a murdering spree. Lastly, Joey, is extremely loyal and willing to clean up the dirty work and the heavy lifting (literally) just to stay on Frank's good side: therefor the brawn, as he does as Frank asks him to do, but has difficulty actually killing (because muscles alone help with killing, but cannot kill without the mind and an impuls to start the act). All four of them together are the killer. and that is why I think as a group, they work so well. they are a 4-piece-puzzle. as soon as 1 puzzle disappears, the puzzle is no longer whole; thus as soon as 1 member disappears, the killer no longer exists.

I love the Legion. They are probably in my top 3 favorite killers with Plague and Blight. I think I'd order them from favorite to least as Susie, Joey, Frank, then Julie. I feel like each member should get their own tome or at least do a tome where the killer side of it has bite sized stories from the perspective of each member.

Just pointing out a bit of a continuity snarl from the Tome and base backstory for the chapter. The final part of SoM imply a that the Legion got its name right before they killed the cleaner. Which forgets another point of The Legion’s story, that Jeff painted the mural at the resort. And said mural was the main reason why Jeff was taken by The Entity. If they came up with the Legion name just before they vandalized the store and killed the cleaner, there would be no time for the mural to be created.

What I don't like about Legion's lore is Suzie. She clearly lacks any confidence on her own, however, she is the first member of the legion to draw blood. Her cosmetic descriptions of her Lunar New Year skin clearly states that she stabbed a random guy in the back, twice, to impress Frank. Her new cheerleader outfit says that she was bullied and some how got even with the bully. This all happened before the cleaner murder. In terms of in-game item lore Suzie is the most prone to violence of the group. I do think it would be cool if Suzie and Joey got tome lores as well as they are technically unique characters who really don't have any lore on their own.

Well, it is fairly possible that the person she stabbed survived as wounds weren´t fatal. And the timeline of the outfits is not implied either. As tome says, Susie had no problems causing some serious injuries eventually. Mostly due to the Frank and Julie´s influence.
@Rexvils
@Rexvils 2 жыл бұрын
@@eliasar5051 the problem is that The Legion were taken hours after the cleaner’s death. There is no timeline to justify fitting in the outfit murders unless Susie took a detour before burying the cleaner’s body on Ormond. The only real explanation for the Lunar New Year description and the Cheerleader Outfit if they were taken from a version of Susie where the Legion’s members already started killing before being taken.
@eliasar5051
@eliasar5051 2 жыл бұрын
@@Rexvils It wasn´t directly stated that she killed that cheerleader though. None of the previous wounds caused by attacks of the Legion members were fatal, so I assume that there is at least a day or even more between inventing the name "Legion" and actually raiding that store. Otherwise literally nothing that bears that name including the existence of mural would make any sense at all. All that base lore says is, that Frank convinced Joey to raid the store "that had fired him recently." That could mean pretty much any timeframe in margin of few days.

@@Rexvils There's no way that's possible since they're taken around August of 1996 and The Lunar New Year is months before that point- and the Cheerleader Outfit is probably a year before then in 1995 (since her ID charm in that same tome is 1994-1995). It's possible that Susie drew the line at murder but was okay with hurting people.

@arweeniehutjr

An interesting thing to note about Susie in particular is that her character model is the only character in The Legion that's smiling/showing emotion- but she is also the only one with clouded eyes. If you look at all the other legion members, their pupil color is black but hers is gray indicating The Entity possibly mind controlled her to do its bidding. The only explanation I could ever come up with for the inconsistencies making her violent (despite the original lore suggesting otherwise) is made up memories by The Entity to sway Susie into believing she's always enjoyed killing or harming others. Either that, or the possibility of perhaps after all being groomed into a life of crime by Frank (Not confirmed/canon but a dev did have the idea in a Samination stream that Susie killed because she loved Frank) and since her ID charm suggests she's known Frank since she was a freshman/The Legion was formed back then (1993-1994, when she's a sophomore in 1996) she possibly was groomed into a life of crime because she's insecure and doesn't have anything else to lay back on. This would also make more sense since they're presumably taken around August of 1996 and the Lunar New Year was in January of that year. The only thing I can make sense of (if the cosmetics are indeed canon) is that maybe she really drew the line at killing, maybe taking a life was more dangerous and scary to her than just stabbing someone- it's never stated she actually killed the man she just left him to bleed out. I'm pretty sure that Angsty Artist is more of a Julie skin considering they got the two mixed up (even the outfit has Julie's face under it) because it also states painting canvases when Susie is more of an arts and crafts enjoyer. As for her newest 'Stolen Cheer' skin, which is definitely from her Freshman year if it's connected to the ID, it's possible around that time she was still trying to figure herself out and who she wanted to hang around. It never does state she killed the cheerleader, simply stole her shit and maybe threatened the girl as well- or perhaps The Legion as a whole beat the girl up or bullied her much harder in return (It is stated in their original lore that their weekend activities included bullying.) It's clear though that Susie did have plans outside of The Legion in her original outfits, describing applying for college down the line and volunteering for her credits. As complex and sad as Susie is, I think the reason people like her so much is because you can really relate to someone who's never felt like they fit in anywhere they went- even with The Legion being the only family she has she's always been the shy and quiet one and only tags along so she feels like she has someone. So here's to hoping that BHVR gives her more lore and elaborates on her character, same with Joey who is just as important and interesting.

I like Susie because of what she represents the most out of the group in OG lore (not taking skins into consideration because their stories also conflict with the OG story): the corruption of potential of the ill-spirited. As rightfully mentioned, she is 16 at the time of the Legion entering the Fog, and that scene in their OG lore shows greatly how person having no willpower to oppose evil intent and deeds sucumbs to it. It is no coincidence that Frank, not Julie, forces her hand to finish a job of taking a life, as he is the leader, spearheading his followers into the dark pit of hellscape itself, as Susie is the follower. In that moment of hesitation her fate had been sealed and her choice was made. And, as Johny Blaze in the first Ghost Racer movie said, if You are not making the choice, the choice is made for you. Susie, being the last person to land a blow, and showing doubt and unwillingness to do so, could've been the one to oppose the Legion, had she the strenght of will and courage to object, when her doom hour struck. But, not being steadfast in her judgement, already conscripted with the Legion, she hesitates, and evil, by Frank's hand, ties Susie to itself, by the blood of a life she inadvertantly took. And, more fittingly, she then becomes an Entity's agent, once more inflicting suffering on others in her act of submission and servitude to evil too great for her to oppose, which warps her to the point where violence towards outsiders is the only language she is able to communicate by, showing, that evil can only be opposed with determination, and a person with lack there of is but a vessel to be filled by it.

Frank - a Charles Manson type figure, leading the other three through his ideals and some type of rage due to how his childhood was. Joey is a classic follower, trying to simply impress the group and will do so through any means possible Julie, as stated in this video, sees frank as a ticket out of Ormond and is madly inlove with him. Susie, the shy gal, was forced into stabbing the doood. Just a good girl in a bad group. Oh, and if we wanna talk about how she looks the most insane of the group, i blame the Entity for that! Since we know it already doesn't care about forcing killers to work for it (look at trapper, guy apparently fought against the Entity at one point only to get tortured and is more like a beast than man). So I think The Entity made Susie more insane, because there's NO WAY she would willingly just stab people to death after literally trying to get away from stabbing the janitor.

I feel like Susie as a character of legion herself, after being forced so many times to kill, would eventually start to crave it and excel in it eventually without franks help, eventually pushing him on the edge of her thoughts every time she hunts. She'd go from shy, nervous, thrill seeker....to a ravenous thrill seeker who can't wait to dig her knife into her neck victim. Although I feel like this would cause some moments of fractures within Susie and Frank would have to help her from regretting what she's done.

What if the base lore is how killers would describe their self and their backstory if you were to ask them and the tome stories and cutscenes are what really what happened. Like it makes sense that the base lore of the Legion would be told by Frank in his perspective because he's the face of the Legion and would probably be the one to tell you who they're if you ask. A good example of this would be Nurses lore. In her base lore she is described as this caring kind person who because of the horrors of the mental facility she worked in went insane and killed people, but her tome story and cut scene show a completely different story. Just a thought

"Susie on release with the Darkness among us DLC is a 16 y/o girl" Me, a 17 y/o that started playing her since I was 15: I don't see the problem Now fr, I feel that Susie needs her own tome now, since with David and future Blight tomes we can see that some killers are going to have more tomes in the future, I want to see one about Susie to explore her character. I mean, she is one of the most inconsistent members of The Legion, and I say it not only for the cutscene tome, but for her cosmetics Here is an example from one of the Susie outfits, "New year shoplifter", the weapond "Sparkling Knife": "She snatched a gem-embedded knife and followed the man outside. She chased him down an alley. Wanting to impress Frank, she stabbed the man in the back, twice. He stopped and stumbled while Susie snatched his waller. She left him in the cold street, bleeding" This weapong description is literally telling us that Susie killed a man for money and so she could impress Frank at the sime time, stabbing him twice. That makes literally 0 sence, since the base lore told us about an insecure and shy Susie, not a girld that wants to hurt people. And the latest outfit that she got from the rift, "Stolen Cheer", told us about a Susie that was bullied by a cheerleador at school, and that presumably she killed, and then vandalized the uniform of that cheerleader...and that is not the Susie that we know about (this outfit even has a "Doll knife" as a weapond, and the last part of the desciption about this weapond says "a twisted riposte to those who caused her so much pain") Even with all this, she is my favourite member of the four, but I think that she needs a tome lore too (and also, her own voice. Joey and Susie have the same voice as Frank and Julie). And that concludes my problem with my favourite member of the Legion :)

I believe that the tome and the original lore can be correct at the same time if you look at it from another perspective. What if they were the stories of the group from two different perspectives, Frank and Julies,. Frank being the charismatic one could have read the situation in a way that leads to the original characterization, and the tome shows how Julie remembers the events. Since details about events are always different depending on which person you ask I'd say that it's actually good writing to have a discrepancy between the cinematic and the original story.

ultimately my answer to the tome cinematic is that the cinematic is shown how Julie remembers it. Joey and Susie aren't important to Julie's recolection of the event, therefore they're put into the background, for her the only important things in that moment were herself, Frank, and the fact that they were killing a guy. then again I'm not exactly an ultra legion fan and am basically pulling this expaination out with only stuff learned from this video. it's entirely possible that I'm just completely wrong.
