It is just tons of practice. I'm still a long way from where I want to be with engraving at the moment but I'm getting better for sure! I spend a ton of time looking at Google images and old architectural pics to get ideas.

I worked at a store where we made quite a few square bands but usually just plain. Wore one myself during my first marriage. They're comfortable but a super PITA to size. Nice bead setting job, not a lot of guys around who can still do that, at least in the US.

I actually use the metal around the hole to make little beads that hold them in place.

Now their are some really cool filaments that print well and burn away "relatively" cleanly. So I have been watching stuff on casting, and your work/videos are excellent and inspiring. What do you do with the gold that gets drilled/burred/engraved out?

It falls into my bench pan and then goes into a bucket at the end of the day. All my vacuum and floor sweeping goes in there too along with used sandpaper etc. Usually about once a year it goes to the refinery and gets melted down.

I made the exact ring in red white and yellow gold.Make sure you get the correct customer finger size BEFORE making as sizing as sizing will change the equal shape of the ring.

Spin casting is a blast! I'm working on a future video that we're calling trailer park sling casting lol. It's going to be a low budget casting option. I'm not sure how safe it will be though haha. The guy who taught me fine jewelry is doing it with me :)
