Maybe they store 64 stacks per large nest block and 32 per small nest block but eat them at a slow rate based on the number of connected nest blocks. So a bigger nest can store a lot more but needs a bigger tree farm to sustain it. They each have a single stack buffer that they will eat from before anything else and a second communal buffer that they'll try and pull from until their main inventory and food buffer are full. Hoppers can pull from the main inventory and push to the communal buffer, and breaking the nest drops only the main inventory and an empty nest block (or only the full nest if you used silk touch). If they're kept full and have a non-solid or air block above them, a big nest will try and and spawn a small nest on top of it once every Minecraft day (maybe late at night), while if it's got a log or full small nest above it instead of air, it'll instead turn it into a large nest block on its first attempt. When making an attempt to grow, it checks if it has more than two nests below it and if it does it checks if the third block has wood, air, a non-solid block, or a small nest beside it, if so it instead grows in that location. It also does similar checks when it's got a solid non-wood block beneath it. Nests act like Netherrack so long as they contain wood, consuming it slightly faster than when using it as fuel (and possibly having an 5% chance to turn the wood into charcoal blocks if it's surrounded by solid blocks), and become decorative scorched nests when they run out of wood. If it does create charcoal blocks, it'd be a realistic and vanilla friendly way to farm fuel.

Fun little history fact, mud and clay in ancient times were often made with things like wheat and reeds to act as a sort of binding agent, adding strength and rigidity, very similar to how we reenforce concrete with rebar today. Some of the oldest sections of the Great Wall were constructed like that ^^
@lampboy9262 жыл бұрын
6:41 Burnt grass is actually a good idea! If there was feature that makes when a forest is on fire, only leaves burn to ashes and dissapear but logs do not. And when they are burnt, they turn into burnt logs like burnt grass in this video. And you can also get charcoal when you mine them. I expect it to make a decent post-apocalyptic view of burnt forest with dead trees.
