@cactustactics

Do you know for sure they don't? I dunno if knobs has ever said But anyway, if you're building a loop by adding layers, you can create all kinds of sounds and textures by tweaking the controls - but more importantly, you can uh, touch the guitar in different ways. Roll the tone off and drag a finger along the string, mute a string and fret it so you get that little "blonk", blow on the strings, tap the bridge, gently pluck a string with the pad of your finger at one of the harmonic nodes... you can make a lot of cool sounds and textures! And because it's a loop you're building up, you can just add those sounds bit by bit, so you're not limited by what you can do in a single take. Everyone should try it sometime if they can, it's kinda relaxing and creative just seeing what happens

@@cactustactics best kind of looping is doing stuff like this! Great description and ideas. I think atmospheric stuff is so freeing bc time and accuracy can be forgotten

Thank you Knobs for your simple and sensitive approaches, effective with all kinds of materials, from the most classic to the most improbable sometimes. This often allows us to go much further than the original proposals. ; )

It’s fun, but all these KZbinrs are making these crazy sounds with pedals with insane price tags! I mean I can’t afford $300 for one ring mod😢 Ever think of making a budget video? Like a low fi affordaboard? Would absolutely love to see what you come up with!
@ardist2758
@ardist2758 2 жыл бұрын
the cdr70 is a good budget choice but it's somewhat menu oriented. you could also get cheaper/older pedals as a base and get into circuit bending if you're into the more raw sounding stuff

Your ideas and your proposals are interesting and "realistic" But why not the "best" of both worlds ? For example, the Moog Minifooger Ring Mod really appeals to me in its simplicity. Faifield's Randy Revenge has a wider frequency range in both directions. And the modulation is also more present. Lots of musicality and finesse. So I love to bring sounds to both pedals at the same time. The result can be rich, surprising, sensitive. This is just one example among many. Your intervention will make me approach situations more often meeting material with a look of modesty in the means implemented. To get the most out of simple things. Thanks also to Knobs for his rather broad-minded and creative views !

Fun experiment! I like the idea of trying to combine things you wouldn't necessarily think pair well together and just try to wrangle something cool out of it. Thanks for sharing that. I gotta try something similar with a few things I have.
