Very valuable add on. Hope you guys do more videos like this.

Does the Haas umc support mastercams pro+ using DWO and TCPC?? Or would you have to program the part of the machines center of ratation?

I can't believe with probing becoming pretty standard in shops now that this is an add on, I will never understand that. Just like the add on to have machine sim tied to your post costs extra, it's ridiculous considering how much we pay.

This routine is very easy to write as a macro, and you can also do that, as soon as the probe measures the part, it adjusts the D offset on the tool and will do it, until the hole is within tolerance ! but if you use mastercam, it is much more convenient to do it with the help of mastercam, but I have no idea if mastercam can also adjust the D offset of the tool ?! That macro is really easy !! Try to learn more about macros and renishaw probes rutines and you won't believe what you can do with them :) nowadays software that can generate macros is very expensive because people don't want to learn :D i recommend the book by peter smid ( Fanuc Custom Macros B)

How many variables can be recorded? Like if you had 60 holes in a part, can each hole have it's own variable?
@mastercam4 жыл бұрын
You can only display 2 variables at a time on the control but can store as many as you like (as long as you have variables available in the control). There is a limitation by default how many you can post out at a time in Mastercam so for 60 holes you may need a minor RENMF (Renishaw machine file - similar to a post processor) change to allow for more probing routines to be posted at one time. If not they can be split into separate NC files.

You don't have to display those numbers! It is enough to create a macro template that will work like calling a subroutine with the help of G65 (for HAAS), while you can automatically choose the tolerance range, which, if exceeded, will throw alarm #3000, while you can also write in that macro to adjust automatically by the D tool offset :) there are videos on youtube about that i think HAAS have some

why is masterCAM using haas ? you guys have so much money buy a real CNC like a okuma or something
@matejkuka797Ай бұрын
HAAS is not real CNC ? Are you going to do this cycle only on Okuma or what? HAAS uses FANUC logic, all macros and many parameters are the same as FANUC... this whole probing cycle that you see in the video, I wrote on HAAS already in 2012, while my macro is able to measure the part and throw an alarm accordingly, or adjust the offset of the tool and repeat the operation until the part is within tolerance :) I am able to write these routines for OKUMA, MAZAK and many others but to claim that HAAS is not good is nonsense! I have worked on many brands of machines and if you compare the price of HAAS and OKUMA, it is nonsense! compare it in the same category!
