Making the Old Line on my Talyllyn Model Railway with tippers!

This video sees me making a start on the 'old line', which is the original route to Nant Gwernol. This track is still in place and has V tippers sitting on it. Join me on this adventure to make an important part of the layout, which won't actually run..

This might sound lazy but do you have a video regarding this layout showing the dimensions or capturing the entire layout? I will look back as well. Always enjoy your videos and in particular how you solve issues and explain how much time is spent trying to get something right. Pretty cool off hours solution to the lack of track. Smart.

Weathering powders can be found offered by plenty of retailers. In my experience, they all work exactly the same, so just find a colour you like the look of. Cheers, I’m a fan of the leaves as well!

Ooh ... Friday already! 'Ow do, George. 👋 Loving the 'abandoned' track. Current photos show a serious difference in rail used back in 1865 and 1975 (unless the extension has been relaid since opening). 009 has come an awfully long way from Eggerbahn's early offerings. Their 'generic' tippers looked pretty good 40 years ago, but yours are in a different league and on a par with the 16mm scratchbuilt stuff I saw from the Merioneth mob back in the 80s. Plans for any rust holes in the bottom of the tipper bodies? Love the 'bare chassis' .... btw, where's the body for that one dumped?

009 has indeed come a long way! Even from 5/10 years ago. Yes I’m really lucky that Alec was happy to help me with the tippers (and other items along the layout), as I wouldn’t have been happy with using ‘generic’ models. I do plan to add rust holes..just haven’t had the guts to do it yet
