I don't have cutting oil. What is that used for?

Hi there! Do the jump rings need to be pre-tinned? Or will standard jewelry jump rings work?

They don't specifically have to be pre-tinned, but not every metal will take solder and it can be hard to know what jump rings are made of since most of the time generic jewelry jump ring packaging doesn't say. If you try to use a jump ring made of a metal that doesn't accept solder, it is the most aggravating thing on earth, lol. If you have a bunch already you can test them out and see if the solder sticks or not. I had this problem before - all my jump rings do not accept solder, so I ended up cutting paperclips that were made of a metal that would accept solder and using those and it worked like a charm!

Loved your video. Just wondering what the purpose of the steel wool and brushing it afterward was for.

It helps to clean the solder and get rid of the remaining flux which could corrode later on.

When you hang your glass creations outside, do you need to wax them frequently to avoid deterioration?

Hi Janet, I think it will oxidize and change over time when outside. So far my pieces in the garage and indoors look the same as day one. Just rewax again from time to time to bring back the shine. Copper however will change and that I don't think you can do anything about. But I could be wrong.

Where do you get the glass from again?

I got most my glass from Craigslist finds. But use Franciscan glass, stained glass garden for new stock.
