Many people still have yet to realize just how great a guitarist Angus really is, nevermind Malcolm as a monster rhythm guitarist.

Angus is good - he rips a mean pentatonic scale. But Malcolm was a far better guitarist, Angus has admitted that numerous times in interviews. He just quietly did his thing in the background, kept the engine running smoothly along with Phil and Cliff..... 😉

Angus actually PICKS every note of the thunderstruck lick, most of us can only play it at that speed with pull-offs.

Odd how Mike says the main lick came later, whereas Ang said it was part of the song since the beginning when he composed it with Mal.

He was also in great shape on their last tour and was still in great shape when they made Power Up.

How can Mike say there wasn't anything unusual in the mix? Thunderstruck has very specific mixing decisions, the subtle reverb on Angus' main riff, and especially the way he mixed Brian very dry and then added unusual gate reverb to his voice as the song progressed. And then the big reverbs on the drums at certain points. Really cool comments about Brian later on.

Maybe he does'nt remember the intricacies of the moment. Sometimes I look back at a photo of myself at a place in time and think fuck what the hell was I thinking and it just does'nt come back to me .... except the fact that I looked like a god

And A LOT of backing vocals. For AC/DC track, it is very produced. Don't get me wrong, I live for this band, every songs they bring it to the next level live, it's their thing, it has to be this way! ..except for this one;) So so hard to get it right

All time greatest rock ‘n roll track, by the all time greatest Rock ‘N Roll band. Change my mind. Can’t, better luck next time. 🤘🏻 EDIT: So many aspiring guitarists started playing because of this song

Play Ball is still a cool tune! ........ I think that song and Rock or Bust were their two best singles since Moneytalks. Rock n Roll Train is a very well made track also

Nice video, but just btw David Mallet isn't French... his last name is pronounced like "mallet" (like a hammer). I know this because I am a fan of his director style... he's done Pink Floyd as well. But good video definitely. 👍🎶

Always thought fairbairns production on this record was heavy handed.. the intro lick running the whole tune, the open chords Angus plays on the verse dont ring out naturally they stay the same volume as when he first hits them its a very unnatural sounding sustain and the drums sound super stiff and compressed to death, its like they were programmed .. coolest part of this song is Malcolm's hybrid picking peddle toneish rhythm part this tune always sounds better live than the studio take

Understand one thing - the Young's were from a Scottish background. Once you realise that, those riffs all make sense.

I don't like their hits(played too much) It's the B sides of the Bon era that's the cream. "What's next to the moon' 'Gone shooting' ' kicked in the teeth again' crabsody in blue, you know things like this. I know, I know your thinking how better off you are knowing this.
