Love the addition of the holdfasts - much nicer than fiddling with f-clamps!

Thanks. I'm really pleased with how useful the holdfasts are in practice.

Ah yes! Proper sawhorses indeed! Nicely done!! You may have to do a barn expansion to do full fitting layouts of your bents…

Currently I'd have room to layout a small bent, but I'd have no way to get it out the door. I'm happy with the situation for now, although I do need to rebuild the back doors

I'm a little surprised this video hasn't gotten more attention than it's attracted. Using a wrench to guage the diameter of your pegs, great idea. Simple but effective as any other device made to that. Who made your Hold Fasts? Nice design.

Thanks for the kind words. The holdfasts were from Powermatic. I think they were delivered through Home Depot.

Another guy working on the wrong side of the makita chain mortise. Makita designed it to be run from the chain side not the backside. Yes I own one. Nice job on the saw horse.

I'll give your thought a try, but I'm pretty sure you're wrong on this one... I'll get back to you, but it might be a while before I pull it out.

I looked. I'm quite convinced that it's not designed to be run on the chain side: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4KXZX2nnpqjiLs

It is absolutely made to run from the chain side. Lookup Northford timber framers KZbin channel. George explains why you run it from the chain side. He is correct I talked with a makita representative and he confirmed that you stand on the chain side. Shelter institute has a video of how to use the makita chain mortise machine and the guy is standing on the backside which is wrong. If you open the chain guard to service it it's done from the chain side. Also the ruler at the base is made to be read left to right like everything else in the English language.

I bought them at Home Depot, I believe they were a 12 inch holdfast, but it looks like they now only sell the 8 inch: www.homedepot.com/p/POWERTEC-8-in-Workbench-Holdfast-Woodworking-Clamps-Set-of-2-71528/313577726
