In the BECMI day our group gave the Elven Clan a ritual that basically implanted a house design at the planting of the tree. It grew and made hollows where you needed them and the chimneys were coated with a flame retardant sap.

Tree villages were one of the things that drew me towards elves when I started playing Fantasy Tabletop RPGS. I would think elves or other fantasy races would use a combination of magic and preserved wood when building their villages. I remember a rare type of tree that magically stayed alive after it was cut down. It's called Livewood in the Eberron setting. I imagine this tree would make ideal tree villages.

😂... How to RPG, that's a good one.... 'We're dealing with fantasy not real world mechanics......' And then you go and use real world mechanics in building a treehouse... At least, until the end where you then said ....I built it with magic... Don't forget the toilets you need to know where the two P's go?!...😂
