Making Watercolour Paint FROM SCRATCH!

So since I've attempted previously to make my own acrylic paint from scratch and failed miserably at it! I thought this time I would attempt to make my own watercolour paint from scratch! And I think the reason the last time I attempted to make paint went so badly is because I thought it would be possible to cut corners, however I learnt in today's video that making paint the correct way by crushing pigments together with a glass muller, makes a massive difference! All the pigments blended perfectly well, although the textures varies there weren't any major disasters, and it was also much easier! So if you ever want to make any kind of paint from scratch yourself, I would 100% recommend you attempt some watercolour paint, it was super easy!

Oooooohhh...u made those paints so THICCCCCC 😂😂😂😂 usually when we make watercolor we make them very thin so we kind of have to dribble them into the pan off the palette knife lol. Very cool consistency!!!

So glad this worked out for you. I loved the colours you made. I’d call them watermelon red, pink grapefruit, lemon, ripe banana, avocado, aubergine and spinach! It’s great to see you have success at last and long may it continue! ❤ I do like the ghastly recipes though…. Wouldn’t be right if they worked out 😅😅😅

That was fun to watch! I really think you could create yourself a sizable watercolour palette Ant. Maybe your next hobby should be making watercolours for your artsy friends and family. Watching videos of people mulling watercolour paints is so relaxing. A tip for the future is that you can try the paint out before putting it into the pan to see if it's too grainy or not and if you need to continue mulling.
