Bit of a different one today! This video was originally going to be a "let's try to make it good" sort of affair but decide to just make it heavily gameplay based instead, covering a whole 2 hour session. Tried a few different things with the editing too. Let me know what you think :)

I view Weaving Spiders like Mercys damage boost in Overwatch. The total amount boosted isnt that much but it changes break points - enabling another teammate to oneshot is potent, even if you only boost 1500 damage in the match. The assists result in direct pressure. Technically, Weaving Spiders does the same: it takes a lot of time and leaves you broken but the direkt value isnt that the perk "repairs gens", it literally doesnt. It takes more than 10% off the time it takes to do a gen solo. It helps you reach endgame faster and makes endgame easier and increases pressure on the killer by taking away how much time they can take for every chase

Like, every time you get chased off the gen when its done like 85%? Wouldve been a fixed gen a long time ago, even if the invocation is mathematically time inefficient itself: it enables more efficiency after an inefficient action if thats understandable

One very niche use of invocation is avoiding crows while waiting for the killer to find and close the hatch, other methods being recovering (even when fully recovered you won't get crows if you keep doing it since it's still an action) and totems (just keep getting off before finishing, bonus points for calm spirit)

Standard comp strategy for endgame is to have an item and keep dropping it & picking it up. I've tried it myself, completely stops crows from spawning.

Unfortunately Pepsi didn't use the build I'd actually like to see tried with Weaving Spiders: - Invocation Weaving Spiders - Distortion - No Mither - Flex perk (e.g. Resilience, Calm Spirit, Dead Hard, etc) The idea is to do the Invocation as soon as possible early in the match. Distortion is important because it helps keep the killer from seeing your aura in the basement during the invocation, which is good since there are quite a few popular killer perks that show auras. Since you'll then be Broken the whole match, you may as well also run No Mither and get all of its pretty decent benefits basically for free. The fourth perk is a flexible slot. You could use something like Resilience since you'll be injured the whole match anyway to do gens more quickly. Or if you are worried about being found by shouting in the basement during the Invocation or later in the match, you could use Calm Spirit. Or if you're looking to just help in chase, something like Dead Hard or Lithe, etc, is good. But mainly it's that Distortion plus No Mither plus Weaving Spiders combo I'd like to see tried some time.

@@megaagentj2248 It’s fairly likely for killers to run aura perks and just go after the auras they see rather than go to the basement on the off chance someone they don’t see an aura for but who might be the No Mither survivor is in the basement. And even if the killer doesn’t run an aura perk, it’s still more likely they’ll see survivors other than the No Mither person before they even bother to go to the basement simply because the basement doesn’t have a generator. Additionally you’re assuming most killers even think that deeply about the meta of where to go, but in reality average players just chase who they find.

@@Bodyknock maybe I'm just weird but I don't run aura perks and whenever I see a no mither I just check basement and it's a free kill, against smart killers it's better to have the extra healthstate to escape basement if you're caught

Everyone is thinking on Invocation:Weaving Spiders wrong. It's not something to get 50 seconds off every gen at the start. It's a safe action you can do to help the team when you're already on death hook. I tested this a bunch in SoloQ and found Wicked, Deja Vu, Resilience the best combination. You start super obvious doing gens near basement hopefully one has Deja Vu, feel free to bring the basement offering, either one but I found Main as best. When chased, loop near basement, tempt them to hook you there. Wicked off it once their gone and continue to do all the close gens, and when chased loop near basement. Now Wicked can't get you off BUT whoever gets you off can help you do invocation as long as the killer isn't camping which you'll see with Wicked aura read. Obviously don't let them heal you since you'll just lose it. If you want to do the early game invocation with No Mither, be David and don't bring the offering. Killers might assume you are just doing Adept achievement. I prefer Flip Flop and Tenacity with them and trying to die on pallets so they worry about saves. Helps if your prestige is low on David, use base skin or a store bought skin if you really want to sell it. If you're really daring and have bad luck getting 3 gen'ed you can replace Wicked with Potential Energy. With the 15% gen speed boost you can carry that gen juice to the worst one in the 3 gen(typically more central one) and pre-run, rinse and repeat if their haunting it.

TBH I kinda want to see a Central Gen, like the ones in RPD with Invocation and 4 Brand New Parts as the last gen you try to complete. Just try and stop it from being finished Killer!

I think the only time this perk can be a little bit useful is against sweaty 3-gen defending killer, the ones, that usually even not committing the chase

Make the build better by everyone bringing Reassurance so if someone gets hooked in the basement you guys can leave him/her on the hook for total of 90 seconds more on the first stage that last 60 seconds normally. While they are on the hook you can use the time to finish the Weaving Spiders. If you get lucky the killer will not notice it.

I've actually had sucess with a weaving spiders and potential energy build. Only two of us take weaving, and since only the person who starts the invocation gets broken ... as the primary invoker, I take Potential energy, weaving spiders. Resilence and then Exhaustion perk of choice (I like spring burst). While it does take time to finish, with only two survvivors missing the killer usualy doesn't suspect anything and with potential energy and a toolbox with max repair speed addons... its not op, but fun and workable.

You can also wait until later in the match to use Invocation: Weaving Spiders, but that means you either get less value from it (i.e. it only helps w/ 1-2 gens), or you'd hv to somehow get all gens to 99% & pop them all at once (which is hard to pull off).

Ngl, I know they buffed Invocation: Weaving Spiders after the PTB to only take 60s instead of 120s, but perks like this & No Mither still don't feel worth staying broken for the entire trial imo. I think they need to give them another buff/ benefit tbh, i.e. it also: - increases action speeds (like Resilience), or - reduces Grunts of Pain by 100% (like Iron Will), or - gives you 3% Haste (like Boon: Dark Theory), etc. It sucks that you basically hv to run an entire dedicated perk build to make a single perk feel viable.

It's not garbage you need to think more abstract. In solo queue it can be the difference between someone finishing a gen or getting found by a killer before it's done and getting kicked. Or the difference between someone getting off a gen or not to unhook(usually way to soon too)

You are forgetting about how it is “Sneaky Progress”. Sure it is less efficient, but killers are wasting valuable time but checking the basement. It either gets done with the killer not noticing the sneaky progress, or the killer wastes time by being paranoid.

How to make spider weaving "op" 4 man swf All with spider weaving One running distortion, no mither, plot twist, spider weaving. If lethal is in play, don't b line to basement, if it's not b line to basement. If curropt is in play insta plot twist and have 2 people pick up no mither user. Have no mither user start the invocation. Everyone bring fastest tool box with bnp, hyper focus, stake out. 2 bring prove thyself, one deja vu to prevent 3 gening. PUSH THE GENS

I think the build is better without no mither. If someone has it and the killer isnt stupid, he instantly knows you have invocation and checks basement. I made it worth with this build: Invo, dead hard, off the record, resilience. I escaped 6 matches out of 10.

yeah. it is better to just run distortion+weaving spiders on two people. one person get chased. other does a gen. two people do a 60 sec invocation. If everyone bring commodus toolbox and build to last, it might be good gen-rush build.

30 seconds would be worth it, except you have to factor in the fact that 4 people are taking 30 seconds which means that it actually takes... 120 seconds total Ofc if you can pull it off at the start without the killer finding you it's a little different but still you should probably just repair gens lol

Invocation value 4 x 30 sec = 70 Gen Value 4 x 30 sec = 120 With all 4 people doing the invocation it is still less value than 4 people doing individual gens, even 3 people doing gens and one in chase would be 3 x 30 = 90. There is just no calculation that makes invocation valuable. So not only is it worse time wise, you also get injured for the rest of the match, the perk needs some rethinking

my friend isn't so good at looping so he runs this perk while we duo and i loop the killer. i think its important to run it with distortion as well so there's less chances to get interrupted. we also like to run this with a combination of head on so we can both save each other mid chase, it can be surprisingly effective.

@@boringmonkey6958 probably because some people do get use out of this perk and you're just in denial. in case you haven't noticed killers in this game have a commitment problem and long chases are generally rare beyond anything but baby mmr. i'll break it down so you can understand the usual case, my friend gets on gen > gets interrupted > goes down within 15 seconds. it's just how it is but i still enjoy his company and choose to play the game with him. at least if the killer cant find anyone else they will commit to me. not saying it's a good perk, but at the end of the day it has it's uses for some people so let's not pretend it doesn't.
