I'm really sad because no matter how much salt I add the freezing point doesn't seem to lower. The whole thing's giving me freezing point depression.

@@stepbystepscience Hehe.. Sorry, my comment was entirely for the pun. When I'm bartending and someone asks if I can quickly make a bottle of wine very cold, I actually use this trick all the time. It's why I watched the video in the first place. Thanks for helping me understand the science better!

I do not know why I understand the everything else except the applications especially the first one. How is the ice not getting formed since the temperature will be lower than zero degrees after adding the salt into water? I only get confused there, I hope you understand what I am trying to ask from you.

Essentially, the salt makes it harder for the water molecules to bond together in their rigid structure. I gets in the way of the ice forming into crystals. Sorry for the later response.
