The robots are very cool but you could make the obstacles in a way they cannot be put to the ground, otherwise the obstacles are not respected.

A couple of these remind me of the LandMaster from "Damnation Alley." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Landmaster I remember reading that the wheels were all geared so that, on flat ground they would just turn, but if a sufficient obstacle got in the way, the whole assembly would then turn to climb over it. Accomplished entirely through fairly simple direct gearing.

almost like legs, with the 3 wheel setup. Walking, but rolling. Interesting, if we could build something that deformed easily for the obstacles, yet rolled freely.. maybe like a RC crawler tyre, but out of Lego with stuff that moves? 👍🍺🇬🇧
