There was a study with rats that found that they enjoy driving little rat-sized cars, even when no treats were offered. I'd love to see you do something similar. Not sure if a hamster is quite smart enough to figure a car out, but it seems worth a try. I'm vaguely familiar with the intelligence of rats, but idk if hamsters are at the same level. Even if this one can't work out the controls, it'd be fun to design and build. Must say, I approve of the snack choice. Pumpkin seeds are tasty.

If you are building large objects, maybe try the Lego ZNAP! parts. I've built a machine which has some purpose, but used a lot of parts. So I bought for a few bucks some Znap models and rebuilt it with these. It is now green, but I saved lots of regular Lego parts.

Bigger diameter wheel would allow your hamster more control and more comfortable running for long periods of time! If you can also add some kind of cork track to the running pad that would also increase your hamster's comfort and control! If your hamster's head isn't aligned with its spine in a straight line when it's running, then it's not comfortable.
