I'm a homemaker. My husband just bought me a used industrial sewing machine, and my serger is being fixed. I love to knit and sew. I'm trying to begin making and selling clothes, just hopefully enough to support my hobbies. You are inspiring me, making me think maybe I can do this.

I'm someone who also decided to try to monetize my hobbies by trying my hand at KZbin and you've definitely inspired me to keep going with it. It takes time to get this sort of thing going and it's a lot of work. You're doing great!

I am mostly listening to what you are saying and not really looking at the screen until… I look up and we are sitting on the same couch 🤭 The difference is you are knitting and I am crocheting 🙆🏻♀️ New follower here from Portugal by the way! 🫶🏼

This was lovely to crochet along with. I love that you basically answer “what if you hate it” with “well I already hated what I was doing” - well that hits home! This was nice balanced perspective in the whole topic, thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for sharing this!! As someone who’s just starting out on KZbin I’ve definitely been feeling curious about where it could end up going, and you are totally one of the people who inspired me to get started with it. Keep doing what you’re doing! I love to see it!!

Thank you so much for sharing this! As someone who left their job due to Covid and never returned, having found a new direction in which I want my life to go, I can resonate very much with it! I’m currently feeling at loss and hitting lots of dead ends, but seeing someone else in the same position having that moment of finally things falling into place gives me hope!

Love your videos thanks for creating a great environment. Appreciate you sharing! Been struggling with employment since the pandemic began myself. Did some work at a consignment outdoor gear and clothing store for a while, and when that was getting too stressful socially for me, I reached out to my friend who recently started running the outdoor gear and clothing repair shop upstairs. Now I’m being trained and I get to sew and work on other peoples clothes and tents and such and learn about how things wear out and the benefits/downsides of modern materials and I still have time for other work and my puppy! I’m also a yoga teacher, but I haven’t been as into teaching recently so am thinking about starting up a darning/embroidery/mending/hand-sewing circle at the yoga studio for more in-person community. Xoxo

I love this. It was interesting to hear your take on monetizing your hobbies. As a maker people are often saying that you should sell what you're making and that would kill it so fast for me!! But finding ways to use your strengths and shifting your perspective on how you can monetize something you love is quite eye opening. Thanks for starting this conversation!

I think it’s all about finding your place in your chosen world - it took a little longer to find that for myself but I’m happy I did!
