Makita is missing so many obvious opportunities with CXT. Maybe having filled out their XGT line they can quit neglecting these little guys. Could you imagine CXT with a micro off-center CXT router like the Bosch, angled attachments for the chuckless “drill” for drilling/screwing tight places, a Dremel, a brushless update for the little 3.5” circular saw, a soldering iron, and a glue gun? Instead we’ll get five more variants of radios and another coffee maker.

Looks like a beautiful set of pruners but $1000+ they’re definitely for the professional and not the home owner. Makita’s professional tools are very well made and great in the hand compared to the normal Makita tools.

I've had the banggood 18v 'pruners' which fit Makita batteries and apparently cut up to 40mm. Well I've used them the past 2 years cutting all sorts of stuff from coaxial copper foam cable to copper earth cable to branches. They are brilliant. I would love if someone could make an 18v 'pruner' with an even bigger cutting size though. I would pay good money for them.

It's hard to justify the price for the progressive trigger of the shears when Dewalt is $1k less and to make it worst, you need to invest in 12V batteries

I have the Dewalt version of this and they do the same thing with their "2 handed" mini chainsaw that nobody uses with 2 hands. I've got to laugh a bit, and point out that you were talking about chainsaw safety while removing the gear cover and touching the chain without removing the battery. The audio clips of Sarah's enthusiasm for chainsaws were great. Unexpected and funny.

Makit and dewalt and others are coming after Milwaukee’s 12v dominance Milwakee made 12v cool and they’re reaping the benefits for that risk. I’m glad others are now doing the same as battery a power technology in 12v has really moved up, and i believe they’ll equal the 18 platform (one day)

Speaking of getting cumbersome on the wrist, theres a 40v mini rotary hammet drill coking out. Ive got the 12v version but the 40v comes with a chisel option, 12v doesnt. Would a comparison be possible in the future? 40v will probably stomp the 12v but its the chisel function im keen on and if its any good

For the chainsaw nerds it would be cool to do a test changing to 1/4 pitch sprocket and micro chain on that BAAYBEE CHAINSAWW. Ive seen some Japanese KZbinrs try it with the 18v version with good results. One of them even put a 10 inch bar on it after moding the guard.

It seems like Makita is competing with the BAHCO BCL20iB which has been a favorite with professional pruners for a number of years. Both are very expensive and be hard to justify for the hobbyist. It would be nice to see how they compare.

@@RegisG. Yes I agree with you that the FELCO and PELLENC are in a class of their own in quality and price. Makita has their DUP362Z that competes with them but it just hasn’t taken off in Australia like Felco. The BAHCO BCL20iB is a cheaper option and from what I have seen is very popular in vine yards.
