Mr Tools is a very committed man. Kudos for finishing the lego track saw off. Not a very simple task.

At what point do you think that it would be cheaper to buy the real tracksaw.

Good one back, in the 1960’s my uncle used to bring us kids Lego back when he went overseas on business trips to Europe, it wasn’t available in NZ at that time. It must be one of the most long lasting toys ever, my sister’s son played with the same bricks.

I would think that not being able to lock the trigger down is a safety device, why screw with it.

You’d think Makita engineers would have thought of using the pressure preset to lock the trigger to the desired pressure.

Respect to you for doing this video. However, regardless of your results, i still choose the Hikoki/Metabo for any situation. I've been using these 2 brands for the past 21 years, they never disappointed me and I don't think they will any time soon.

Well to make it even more difficult, I live in the Netherlands, and we have for example the ddf486(18 volt drill driver) or dhp486(18 volt hammer drill). I hope I made your day more complicated 😊

The absolute right decision for a random orbital sander - to go with the cord to the battery! Those are very delicate machines and there is no way to make a balanced, smooth, light and easy to use tool of this type with the extra weight and space of a battery and all the inevitable de-balancing. If you want to compete with the Mirkas and the Festools - that is the only way. And the new 40V batteries, from 4Ah up - have ample power, more than the cord. Back in the days - Mirka used to even take out the power supply on their corded Ceros one of the sander - and have it as an external brick power supply - just to save some grams, balancing the tool. I have cordless Dewalt and Makita sanders, have used a lot of other corded ones, some are better than others (well, some are pretty unusable to be fare). But there is really no comparison to my Mirca Ceros. And this new XGT ones look pretty promising. I have never been a fan of the Makita Random Orbital sanders, this is probably the only tool they did not get right in their huge arsenal of tools, talking from back in the days, some 20 years ago. Even the Dewalt ones were better. But it seems they have taken the matter seriously.

As someone that uses a impact in the worst and hardest situations sometimes what matters to me is reliability and that always will go to Makita …

From the sound it makes, the way it danced on the table on the first try and the vibration you felt and made the screw come off, seems pretty clear there's some amount of runout.

In Canada, Metabo HPT is a company that tries its best NOT to sell any power tools. Zero marketing, poor retail store presence, outdated models, half the HiKoki lineup not even available as Metabo HPT, replacements parts impossible to source, customer service non-existent. I like their tools, own around 10 and would like to acquire more, however, they make it difficult to do so.

I have the Hikoki the Milwaukee and the Dewalt (not the newest one that just came out) they all don’t work I don’t abuse my tools but they do work hard though ,the Hikoki did the most amount of nails before it gave up lost its charge after about 2 years Milwaukee done a third of the nails the Hikoki did and lost its charge in a year , the Dewalt did about the same amount of nails as the Hikoki (about 40-60 thousand nails) and started jamming and not driving the nails in properly because of wear it’s a flywheel system. I need to get a new nail gun and I am thinking about getting the new Dewalt because it is also the flywheel system I don’t have faith in the pressurised systems because they are always in a state of maximum pressure under very high pressure as well and has failed me with two top brands with not a great deal of work done they did very well in the beginning when the guns were new but I expected them to do better I had a old paslode gun it lasted 12 years! So 2 years or less for the price is unacceptable for me, I refuse to buy the Paslode again because if I do I HAVE TO buy the Paslode brand nails because they changed the gas canister and their nails is to expensive to justify it, I will be watching the Makita gun for a while first before I buy it because I have a strong feeling that it will be the same as the Hikoki and the Milwaukee in loosing its charge over a not long enough period of time as it seems to be running the same system? , for this reason I will be buying the Dewalt as it’s the cheaper option at the moment and I can easily replace its mechanical parts when they go wrong

You don't need to buy a new gun, just maintain the ones you have. You can refill the hikoki yourself with the purchase of a valve. You also need to replace the springs on a regular basis. All nailguns, including paslode need regular maintenance. The Makita is like the Hikoki and the valve to refill it is about $10. Take a look at this video...

I'm going to take on a pretty big roof deck project myself as a DIYer and I'm going to get a new saw for the job. I was considering one of these but thought I'd go up to the 165mm as I'm likely going to have a lot of 45 degree cuts. Timber will be 45mm thick. I'm thinking either hikoki c3606db or Makita hs001g. Which would you recommend? I don't currently have any 18v/36v/40v tools. Only some Milwaukee M12 fuel stuff. Thanks
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 5 күн бұрын
I would go for HS001G. The 40v also has a larger range of tools and batteries for future expansion. The HS002G also has AWS if that interests you. Makita 165mm HS001G (6.5") Black ebay.us/j3ScMA Teal ebay.us/GB2Uat Makita 165mm HS002G (6.5") AWS ebay.us/YrN1H1
