Had to come to your channel to see about this exact compressor. Was at the flea market yesterday and someone was selling one. Brand new in the box for 150. Walked around thinking about it. I set 125 aside to offer him. When I came back to him, before anything, he said 100$. Bought it. Lol..Mainly for the cars. Blow out interior of the cars and add air to tires. Also have to install my baseboard. I like to think I scored.

You really did! It's a great compressor. Homeowners constantly comment on how quiet it is. And, it works really well for the projects I do for them like trim carpentry and repairs.

thanks for the review i will probably go with this one instead of the 1 gallon model, Amazon has the 1 gallon a AF506 nail gun and hose for 249 the 2 gallon is 199 and the gun separately is 69 so minus the included hose with the 1 gallon its like 20 bucks difference for twice the tank.

I’m starting to do work out of my garage and I already have tools from previous jobs but they’re all air impacts would this be a good fit for them?

What compressor would you recommend for car tires? Is the 1 gallon to much for cars? They are big tires ona Mercedes

I just picked one up for everyday use in the garage. Can I just leave it on Auto all the time? ...or do I need to turn it on (and off) everytime I want to use it? Thanks!
@JoePelayo12 жыл бұрын
I leave mine plugged in and powered on. It holds pressure really well. I've never had an issue with air leaking out over time. I have a 6gal rigid pancake compressor and it loses pressure over night.

looking at compressors for finish nailing trim baseboard maybe framing in the future but small jobs will this be adequate for 16g nailer or higher? thanks
@JoePelayo13 жыл бұрын
I have two compressors. This one and a Ridgid 6 gal . I find myself consistently using the 2 gal mikita on more jobs from trim work to light framing. It's easier to transport, and being that it's so quiet it is so much more tolerable having it run at a client's house. I now strictly use the Ridgid 6gal for large framing jobs or running air hammers for demolition. I have a 16ga nailer that works very well with the Makita 2 gal compressor. I can probably get through 12-15 nails then the compressor will quietly kick on briefly to refill the tank. It definitely keeps up with nailing trim baseboards and other trim work.

I want something to blow off my chainsaws after use, nothing else. Do you think this would be adequate for that application? Thank you.
@JoePelayo13 жыл бұрын
I blow drywall dust off my tools with this all the time. The 1 gal tank empties pretty quick but the compressor kicks on a runs. It does keep up for several minutes which is good enough for me.

@@JoePelayo1 Sound like it'll do...definitely don't want one of those noisy pancake-style units. Thank you very much.

Does it sound louder in the video or in person?
@JoePelayo13 жыл бұрын
If you notice at between 3:00 and 3:20 I'm speaking over the compressor while it's running. I had to speak a little louder but not much really. I'd say it seems a little louder in the video than in person. I was in an empty room and there was a big echo. Homeowners always comment on how quiet it is.

Would this work well for air drying a car?
@JoePelayo12 жыл бұрын
I've never tried it but I imagine it would. Some mobile detailers use a 1 gal compressor this one is 2 gal. Plus, I don't think the pressure has to be set so high either so it should keep up.

I just bought one of these to maintain pressure in my boat trailer/camper/truck tires after wasting mucho $$$ on cheap tire inflators. Do all of these different brands use the same standard size hose and tire fixture? Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
@JoePelayo12 жыл бұрын
I use a standard 50ft hose. I forget the size but the fittings are the same throughout all the compressors. Get one of those fittings kit that has the fitting to inflate tires and other items. I got that and it is compatible with this compressor.

Can this run a 15 gauge finish nailer?
@JoePelayo12 жыл бұрын
I assume it could. I run a 16ga finish nailer without any issues. It shoots plenty of nails between recharging the tank.

I wouldn't recommend it... It'll constantly be running and it won't keep up.
