Hello Pascal, Last month I put new blades on my thick planer. And it was the first time I changed blades. I did not know. I learned tips by watching such videos. And I managed to change knives. Thank you for showing this process. A useful video for anyone in need. 'll see. take care of yourself. Big greetings. Your friend Mehmet.

I've just ordered one of these thicknesser's and I thought I'd give this a watch as I don't like reading instruction manuals. Very useful video, thanks for sharing. Be safe and be lucky.

Hello there Pascal!!! Changing the blades on the Makita looks to be pretty simple and straight forward. I have a Mastercraft model of planer and changing the blades on that was pretty easy I thought, but this system looks to be a lot better!!! Thanks for sharing and take care!!

Thank you Mike. Have never heard of that brand. I looked up and it says Canadian Tire, so maybe only sold in Canada. The good thing about the Makita is the quality of the blades and the fact that they are reversible, and the body is almost all metal. The bad thing is the price @US$750 or so. Hi to Nannie

@@IrishChippy Hey Pascal. Yes the Mastercraft brand is from Canadian Tire. It's about the same as the old Delta planers.

I have that exact thickness planer here in America and have found that it is a workhorse. I’ve had mine for about 8 years and I too have changed out the blades just one time and I plane oak and hard maple boards for my projects. I am surprised by the longevity of these blades. An indication that the blades need to be changed is to check the flatness of your finished board. If it is thicker in the center by 0.003” - 0.004” than at the edges on a 6” wide board then it’s time to flip the blades.

Thank you Grandpa. Yes, it is a real workhorse.
