Thank you for sharing this! I use a makita sander and a festool dust extractor and am excited to incorporate my old bike tire.

Hi Colin, thank you for this video. What size is the bicycle inner tube? The festool link is broken
@ColinKlupiec Жыл бұрын
Hi Sonia. Thanks for your question. The size is a 700c-28mm road bike tube. Thanks for the heads-up on the broken link.

Should be relatively easy to find.

Gonna be sanding a house to paint. Would you recommend this or something else?
@ColinKlupiec3 ай бұрын
For roughing down wider surfaces or exterior cladding, or where you need a lighter sander, like for walls or up a ladder, this sander could work quite well. If you need to cut through several layers of paint, you might get better results with a geared sander. Hope that helps. 😀

@@ColinKlupiec sorry should of clarified. I'm sanding layers of paint on internal plaster walls
@ColinKlupiec3 ай бұрын
@@trav17n It should work just fine on water-based paints on internal plaster walls. Enamel paints on door trims and base boards might need a bit of extra effort, but it should work ok for that too.

if you are wet sanding can you use a HEPA bag ( or indeed any vacuum bag?) in your shopvac? My bag and manual for my shopvac says you can't. Then what do you do? And: can one attach a bag to the exhaust port to catch what comes out the back of the shopvac??
@ColinKlupiec Жыл бұрын
Interesting question. No bag is need for wet vacuuming applications. But you do need a different internal filter for wet applications. No bag is required for the exhaust as it has its own filter.

where did you get the adapter ?
@ColinKlupiec2 жыл бұрын
It came as standard with the CTM MIDI. And you can also buy it separately. www.festool.com.au/anti-static-27mm-reducing-sleeve-for-palm-sanders_204822.html

Did you use a rode ntg5 to record this audio?
@ColinKlupiec2 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks for question. Actually, I used a Rode VideoMic NTG.

@@ColinKlupiec sounds really nice for camera mounted! Nicely done
@ColinKlupiec2 жыл бұрын
@@beanbuilding7158 Actually, for this video it's boom mounted, hanging just outside of frame. But I do also occasionally camera mount it. I've enjoyed using the VideoMic NTG. Thanks for the kind feedback.
