I’ve got 2 makita radios , both doing got dead switch’s , can’t turn the volume up or down or tune in stations . Replaced the switch it does exactly the same . Any ideas what that issue is

Those screws are more than likely not Philips at all, but probably are JIS screws, there's sometimes a small pop mark on the screw head.
