In Australia it's a DUC400, and the Oregon chain that came with it is a 90PX056XMK (3/8 x .043 x 56). The saw works really well, even on our hard woods. I use batteries from my other Makita tools, i.e. 4Ah through to 6Ah and always keep the chain sharp and look after the bar. Be careful, and cut straight.

As to the battery guage bars on the tool, I wonder if they differ because the tool is describing whether the batts can put out what it needs. This can be different than the soc of the batteries, which could explain that difference.

Imo the battery should slide from the bottom, then it would be a lot cleaner looking down on it. It would mean the underside bar would be able to be at the top and look much better.

Is it just one speed?

It cant. I have this saw and it is great for limbing and bucking smaller logs (think 3 or 5" in diameter). If you try bucking bigger logs like fresh 12" silver maple it will choke up, overheat and chew through batteries like no other. I recommend this saw in combination with a higher powered gas saw like the Makita/Dolmer 6100 or Husqvarna 562xp. The battery saw will be great for lower demanding jobs and the gas saw for felling and bucking.

Can’t replace gas for big logs, but in your situation the chain needs sharpening. New chains out of the packet are not always sharp enough unless its a good make.
Hi. I bought the same model. What is the origin chainlink part number you have on your chain saw? I have original OEM 16in bar : MAKITA L8 3/8-56 1.1/.043. I am unable to make it workd using an origon chainlink part number S56X3 F05071 ORD:10008283776 Problem: it slipped inside the gear no matter how i adjust the tension to the max tension. Do know why? I am having 3 gas Stihl chain saws, never have problem until i bought this coreless mikita. Are you using the same origon chain link part number for 16” bar?

The voltage meter on the saw is showing 1 bar, which indicates that the motor will be suffering from voltage sag/battery overheating at this point, and the saw will not operate at top speed

💥 Nice review. It’s interesting that the Oregon bar fits a Makita saw.

Thanks 👍 and so do the Craftsman bars as well.

12/14/16/18" bars are pretty much standard fitment across the board for a lot of brands. Echo, Skil, Ryobi, Craftsman, Husqvarna - all use the same mounting configuration and sprocket size. Fun fact - The OEM 14 / 16" Makita bar & chain options are actually rebranded Oregon items, or at least, they were at one point - I got my XCU03 about 5 years ago, shortly after it was released, and the chain was in an Oregon branded baggy, with a Makita sticker on it.

I cant imagine that Makita would build a bar of their own, it's likely just re-branded.

I have the xcu04 as in your title, though it sounds like you have the xcu03. The 04 model comes with four 5ah batts and the double charger. I wonder how the power of the motor compares. If anyone reading this knows and wants to comment I'll see the reply. I just bought mine, am learning how to set it up and keep it running well.

No difference in the models, it just indicates with bar and chain size they ship with, other than that they are exactly the same.
@DennisHicks78749 Жыл бұрын
@@UltimateToolReviews that is interesting. I’ve been thinking about buying a smaller bar to put on it if a friend wants to borrow it. That way they won’t be as likely to overwork the motor.

its 2x18volt tool longer time to use. these so called 36 volt tools frommakita made wrong. trimmer also. you may see it having cheaper triger or quality different.buy 40 volt tool which has 40volt battery. those chainsaws has equivalent of 40cc chainsaw. and yes they have difrernet battery types aCTUALLY 3 TYPES. in 40volt tool 40volt battery 2 or 2,5 ah --2,5 gives you great umpf in power and more ah battery similar 4or 5 also 8ah. But there is also battery with F at the end so 4 ah with F is basically almost 5ah battery only smaller in size and weight, also about chainsaws you dont use it constantly so they wont over heat even if its 18 volt or lower ah battery if it has more ah it wont overheat so easily. thna makita battery overheats it turns protection. and you may think its dead. than it cools off itstill has 2 bars. so dont do some random tests as in real life it takes long time between hard huge dep cuts, majority of time you picking branches, or if firewood you will non stop move and chainsaw sits on ground buzzing eating money
