Oil pulse is for metal framing. Senses when self tapping screw is set and helps you stop and not wreck the thread you just made.

Right. thats the function of the assisted mode. Its great for me as a cabinet maker as well since i gotta put my face in cabinets and dont wanna blow my ears out lol

Two suggestions, get a mic and edit a sweet intro of you knocking fools out and working with tools. It’s great to see you again. Good luck.

Dude those are great ideas! I think I am going to take you up on those suggestions. Thanks!

Is the makita logo on the oil impulse white plastic like the other new impacts, or is it painted white? Nice to not scrape the logo off after a few weeks!
@MaydaysCustomWoodworks2 жыл бұрын
I'm not in front of it right now... But I think it's plastic. I've been using it for a few years and the logo hasn't rubbed off.

Nice review Mike. I think the new oil drill might have a different internal gear ratio than non-oil impact drill. I had the same issue with the drill bit slipping off the head of the screw.😞 I stopped using Phillip head screws and started using star head screws or square head and never looked back.lol.😆 when installing cabinets I would prefer the slower impact drill. The slower impact drill will have more torque which makes it nice when using 3"-4" screws. Let me know if you recognize who I am in my picture..lol

I know its al bit late for expecting a reply from you but wich bitholder do you have on the side of your impact driver?
@MaydaysCustomWoodworks3 жыл бұрын
Actually i cut off a bit holder from a husky pouch that attaches to a work belt rig. Then i just super glued it onto my drill lol. Lots of people ask about it. Its a huge time saver

I hit the 'like' button because you explained both drills in sufficient and precise detail. I almost hit the dislike button because doggo wasn't in this video. But I let that slide....this time.
@MaydaysCustomWoodworks4 жыл бұрын
I am so sorry ma'am. I will remedy this situation ASAP
@Clinueee5 жыл бұрын
Well at that point why not just use additional drill, they can have much more torque and no impact at all so even less noise than this oil impulse which on video at least doesn't sound that much better. And they are a lot cheaper too.
@MaydaysCustomWoodworks4 жыл бұрын
Thats true. But if you are using a soft motored impact it actually strips out screws less than a rotary drill, and i think its a more versitile tool... also if you've ever installed cabinets with 3" installation screws and a regular drill you know how horrible the screech can be. its even worse than the sound of an impact lol. when installing cabinets sometimes we are at really weird angles and that impact really helps to keep us from fatiguing
