Back in my 20's i used to have my Makita pouch loaded out like this...in my 30's now and keep it more minimalistic with a veto mp1. get the suspenders if your rocking that weight..your back and hips will thank you in years to come.

AYEE thats sick! I got the makita small electricians pouch and modified it to instead of looping it through a belt i took one of the clip system from toughbuilt and chucked it on the back of the makita so now i can clip on and off without having to put it on a belt. Makes it very good when servicing where i have to drive from job to job.
@tomwhitehead33522 жыл бұрын
I’ve had this exact idea but didn’t know how to fasten the clip tech receiver on the back of the pouch well enough to hold but also not damage the pouch itself. How did you do it?
@LilPetoz2 жыл бұрын
@@tomwhitehead3352 hey mate I used nuts,bolt,lock washers so make sure you use doubie nuts on every bolt so it has 3 places you need to secure it so that’s 3 bolts 6 bolts for me the bottom one it got in the way of clipping it in and off so I put 1 bolt on that one and grinder it off so it would pass the clip every time I clip it on and off and it should be secured hope this helps
@LilPetoz2 жыл бұрын
@@tomwhitehead3352 also I forgot to add how to remove the clip tech. You should buy a cheap one out of their range I got the meter tester pouch for $15 here in australia from Bunnings drill the rivets out then line it up on the new pouch when you’re happy with it mark the holes then drill.

I run the same ultimate electricians pouch for a while and had it loaded up like you, I found however after a while I found it was way too heavy, especially here in WA where we’re constantly jumping in the roof for rough in’s. Swapped it for the regular electricians pouch.

100% on the hard bottom. I like being able to stand them up. But I guess it adds to the weight. Which is one reason why vetos are heavy. They should try a shoulder bag for sure. Love the feedback mate 👍

I love these tool bags I’ve had these for years. Nice set up mate. Yeah I just use mine over the shoulder but getting it on and off the shoulder quicker I find it helps just to have it over my right shoulder save going around the head👍 inside that large pocket where you’ve got your 12v impact you can put shifters in there through those straps in that large pocket👍 I don’t normally carry that much though compared to what you have in the tool pouch haha it’s too heavy and realistically all you need for most jobs are like pliers a small flat and a star🤣
@stringlarson12478 ай бұрын
For getting loaded up, others mention suspenders. If that's not desirable, I'd take a look at the Occidental leather and sheepskin hip pads. I went this post route 20+ years ago and they are still great. I don't wear them everyday, but have loaded up for electrical, plumbing, and many other jobs. Mostly working on old houses, but also some industrial sized jobs. FWIW. Those elastic loops look interesting. I think I'll take an old pouch and experiment with modding something like that. If it works, I'll mod one of my Veto pouches. I like their TPx pouch/tote things, but that giant velcro pocket flap is a PITA.

I had a Taurus electrician belt and it was good initially while getting into the trade. But I just don't like how they are set up and the lack of pockets and slots for tools. Also the big pocket in the middle of the bag is such a waste of space for me. In general a not very well laid out belt in my opinion. Though being leather will last forever

Such big and heavy tool pouches i believe its a matter for you back and the big problem is in houses that they are tiny and you move arround alla th time..the only advantage that i could see in this set up is for a lineman who is on the air and he cant go down to take tools so he must have a huge set up like this..Tp3 for me is the best weight and durable for tools that you can carry..

Great setup! I’m keen to know how it goes for your next job! 💪🏼 What do you reckon about a single big pouch with heaps of pockets vs a few or many smaller pouches with specialised pockets? I’ve been watching a lot of the Japanese electricians who seem to run the multiple small pouches on massive belts. Do you reckon it’s easier to find the right hole for your tool without looking in a big pouch or many smaller ones? Re jingling, I love it. I keep my keys on me as well so you can always tell when I’m walking by 🤣 I’ve just started using a Buckaroo so seeing all the accessory options for small addons is great 👌🏼

I think 🤔 it’s better just to Cary a bag with open top so you can see all your tools and you only carry it when you move but the belt you carry it all the time so the weight of the tools is not stressing you all the time its like if you hold a cup of water for one minute you won’t feel it but if you hold it for 2 hours it will feel very heavy maybe 🤔 am wrong about the tools coz I work on a desk for the last 20 years I just was thinking in mathematical mode Cheers

Some people need to carry this many tools on their hip, if you can carry a nose bag /tool bag with a 3-4 tools on your hip on a small pouch like Klein leather 5119. That’s a much better set up. You are going to have serious pain later in life lugging around every tool you own on your hip.
@AddictedtoTools2 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. If they only need 3-4tools, grab a smaller bag. That’s not the case for myself on the job I was using this setup for though. Multiple levels with multiple jobs which is why I went this route 👍
@abusofia6633 Жыл бұрын
that's really heavy dude... just fully like that when working alone..
You're going to wreck your back with that much weight. So much extra pressure on you discs. You'll be fine for a while, but it will catch up to you and there's no going back. 20+ years in the trade, trust me.
