In my opinion, you couldn't go wrong with either one of these impact drivers. I prefer the Dewalt but, I already have several Dewalt tools, batteries, and chargers so, I'm vested in the Dewalt 20v cordless platform. The Dewalt may be a little cheaper than Makita at times, but fathers day sales, black Friday sales, and Christmas sales can make them about even. It most likely will come down to your personal preference and which platform you want to get in bed with LOL. If your trying to decide which platform to go with, I'll say this... Milwaukee is the tried and true brand for the professional, but very expensive in my opinion for the average homeowner or weekend "DIY" person. Bosch is not far behind them for quality and durability. Dewalt and Makita are the challengers for the top spot too. This leaves Ryobi and RIDGID. These are in the lower price range but they are still decent tools. I would choose Ryobi over RIDGID because I think there is some uncertainty in the RIDGID platform at the moment due to their change in batteries and some changes in their tools. RIDGID does offer a "Lifetime Service Agreement" but they don't have the selection of tools that Ryobi, Dewalt, and Milwaukee have. I realize there are more brands of cordless tools out there. The brands I mentioned above are the ones I have personal experience with so I can't honestly comment on the brands I haven't owned. If someone else has experience with other brands, please comment. I don't know everything... ask my wife! LOL!

I recall in a tool teardown somewhere that the Makita (as well as the Dewalt 12 volt extreme), use a needle or roller bearing in the nose cone, while the typical Dewalt 887 and Milwaukee Gen 3 don't. @@thetruth5210 ? if you make a comparison it should be done at what a given tool is fully capable of. but if you do limit a test to battery size that's completely fine. just use the best battery for that given tool for size. test 4ah to 4ah but if the other company has a better 4ah battery you should use that one. The plastic on Every Makita tool I have has cracked in cold weather. Very disappointed in the quality and their batteries constantly underperform. Been switching to Milwaukee much, much better. And they absolutely do not pack their product I’ve called them dozens of times and nothing. What a rotten company…

I own the Dewalt 887 (3250 rpm's) and a Makita XDT14 (3600 rpm's) which has the same specs as the XDT16 , so you would think it would be faster than that Dewalt , BUT Makita Lies about their Specs for some reason , Project Farm did a rpm test on them and the Makita xdt16 only did around 3300 rpm which is 300 slower than its specs and the Dewalt dcf887 did around 3350 which was about 100 or so More than its specs said and more than the Makita , I don't understand why Makita would lie about its specs , the Makita is a great impact and I love mine but the Dewalt is noticeable more powerful , Especially with a 21700 battery....

I love Project farm. his tests are spot on spec tests, I thank you for viewing Brian

I had the 887 & replaced it with the xdt14 then got two battery adapters to use my DeWalt batteries with the Makita. It works great, tight fit & allows you to use Dewalt or Milwaukee 21700 cell batteries on my makita tools

Final test was flawed. The dewalt bolt was at more of an angle so the skipping was less than the makita. If you angled the makita on the final test, it would’ve done the same depth

What exactly is the purpose of this competition? Let's just assume that one is better by a second or two or three or four... What's the point? A tool is more than just being faster by a fraction than another tool; it's the handling, the reliability, the noise and the battery environment... I do hope you have a full time job besides this crap...

Dürüstçe dönmedi, DeWalt'ı belli bir açıyla büktü ve DeWalt makitayı daha hızlı ve daha iyi düz tuttu.

makitas 180 nm dewalt 205 so of course dewalts going to win in speed tests
@AndyTSLMachinist Жыл бұрын
Off course the dewalt are stronger because it’s a 20v compare to the makita only 18v

@@ManCaverTools You either didn't understand or didn't want to understand. Such a comparison is pointless because no one has only one tool. We usually have a few. And that makes the difference. Personally, I prefer solutions from Japan, not from the US. The ones from Japan are more refined, they are more trustworthy. Nobody normal, I repeat NO ONE gets excited about the differences at the level of a second. Your hand is not that fast. Work with the hardware a bit, then you'll understand.
