I bought mine 8-9-24.I have already used it three different times and cut a truckload of wood, mostly limbs the size of your arm. This little Makita does everything that I expected to do.I used a 4 amp battery along a 2 amp battery that came with a Makita Drill that I already had.It took both of those batteries to cut a truckload of wood.I'm so glad I got this Top Handle Chainsaw!!

I freaking love mine! I recently processed through about 1/2 a cord of wood! NO complaints.

Thank you for the discussion of tension and how to adjust it when assembling the chain to the blade. I have never owned a chain saw and I'm a widow who needs to trim the fallen limbs in the yard. Hurricane Debby has made a mess of things. And I was getting no where with assembling it. Now for the Bar oil. Onward!

I LOVE this saw. Tried the other ones and it can easily cut hardwood the length of the blade if you take your time. Great instructions, thanks.

5:50 the most important part

Thank you so much, having never built a chainsaw before I couldn't work out how to get the chain round the blade and socket until you showed me how to change the tension! Now it's built, though I didn't get one of those bumper pieces in my box, how important is that part and what exactly does it do? Also, my brake doesn't click, and though it moves, it doesn't do anything, the blade is still whizzing round wherever the brake is? Update; sorted, found I'd put saw together with brake backwards (on), dismantled, pushed it forward then put back together, and now it brakes. Is quite hard to push though

Glad it helped, but that key chainsaw safety feature should work, if the saw kicks back and doesn’t brake the chain it could seriously injure you. I would return or get it repaired.

@@UltimateToolReviews Thanks for responding, finally realised I had it in 'On' position when building saw, took it apart, put the brake in stopped position, and all good now, thanks again for speed of answer :)

If you press and hold the power button for like 5 seconds it turns on turbo mode(light turns yellow) and gives you a bit more power for thicker limbs.

I've been looking at this, idk whether to get this or the 14" model. This would probably be more useful for me personally as it's easier to transport, I don't do a lot of arbour stuff anymore but having a chainsaw on the 18v Makita battery platform would be awesome. I've got the brushless combi drill and the reciprocating saw, I wanna get some more Makita stuff though, a jigsaw, chainsaw, oscillating tool, impact driver, basically the stuff I can afford to buy Makita, I'm investing in Ryobi batteries too as I can't really afford a Makita belt sander, bandfile or router 😂

I have one of too and was almost but not quite sure about tightening the blade. TY

Amazing how many of these videos don't show how to properly tighten the chain. Definitely check the manual. Otherwise good overview.

Yeah, absolutely not like he did it.
