Been playing Makkari in Surfer and gotta say that her FREE extra 6-to-9 power (after Nakia, Wong, Surfer hit her) has won me quite a few games. Sure she replaces like a Gladiator in the deck which could also win, but she runs out for free so I get to play like Red Guardian (critical for disabling Iron Man/Tribunal shenanigans) AND her instead of only one or the other. And although we know Gladiator is great in Surfer he does on occasion lose you games as well. So far I’m pretty satisfied replacing him with Makkari. It’s worth mentioning that she’s also very helpful in getting early priority which in turn makes targeting like an Angela with Red Guardian easier. Priority is usually harder in Surfer cuz you don’t have many plays on turn 1 & 2. Also been trying her in Evo decks where you skip or underplay energy on turns so it’s useful to have a free card. Results there are mixed. I like her in Surfer better on Day 1.

That's what I've been saying. She doesn't look super impressive at first, or second honestly but I think she's integral in a deck I think may really have a chance to be real. Surfer-Tech but the biggest obstacle to it is Brood. Surfer decks are usually so concerned with getting their cards out and doing their combos that they don't tend to have many things they can do to their opponent but there's tons the opponent can do to them and there are many many more bigger combos that can go off. Cards like RG, and Gladiator can add a lot of power and flexibility to the deck but it get's hard to do that with Brood in the way clogging your locations. Especially when you look at cards like Cassandra Nova(and maybe Ajax), and Copycat and there's some real potential there but the problem is that you would need to figure out the right turns to play your cards both for the power and to ruin the opponents day. Makkari helps ease that turn pressure by playing herself. She could be better if she had Proxima's text of to the location you're losing at but that's something for them to figure out in the future.

Every card can be combined with others to create synergy, but the bottom line is how efficient is againts all the others archetypes in the long run... every card has its highlights when comes out because of the novelty, but the truth is that until the dev team fixes the random effect, it will end up with M´Baku, Quicksilver and Domino.

@@Leems19 LOL that's totally up to you. I have plenty of tokens and keys so I'm not sweating every single card that comes out. I get 'em all and enjoy them. I'm also not saying that she's definitively better than Gladiator, just a fun and acceptable replacement. It'd be hilarious and stupid if every new card that came out rendered an old card obsolete.

Dude I have been cleaning up with this deck in conquest! I thought it would be hard to keep winning once people know the trick but it actually feels insanely strong in the current conquest meta. So much tribunal and Gilgamesh which just count so much on getting a big turn 6. I've seriously just gone through two gold conquests with this without missing a beat. And it wasn't really even close most matches.

In marvel midnight suns she has a voice line that goes "it is hard to resist the urge to say something corny before battle" then EVERY character says corny stuff before and after turns. Although the writing isn't that bad, against Dracula he wanted to recruit storm, and when I finished the mission it didn't save so I had to do the past turn again, and unlike the first time, I moved storm closer to him and he said "so you have decided to switch sides" which thought was cool. If I hadn't played storm Dracula wouldn't have been impressed and if I hadn't moved her he wouldn't have said anything

I think they either allow one movement or they give her the gladiator stat line. You already don’t choose when or where she goes at least make it worth her placement. I really do have a hard time seeing any other worth besides if she was like a 3-7

@@taboo5404 because it’s early and fairly hard to see coming… but this doesn’t change the fact of the game… she’s 3-4 which isn’t great, you can’t control where she goes so you either have to build around her or pray for good rng, there’s multiple locations that can lose you the game or make her pointless. You can’t really add her to the meta because what card does she replace, not Shaw, not Shang chi, not hope. The only pro from this card is possible early priority. Even in the video I’ve seen her win, I just don’t think she’s worth a key, or 6,000 tokens. If she was a random pull cool but for a key absolutely trash. That’s my point to give a final say, she’s not good enough to say I spent a key to get her over gladiator… and I already have x-23 and I would’ve been happy with the x-23 variant over makarri. If marvel snaps next ota makes her like a 3-6 or 3-7 then I’ll take back my stance

Handbuff will be hard to make work with Shadow King being everywhere. Maybe using as a side plan could work and not going all in on it but if your whole deck relies on buffs, you just die to Shadow King every game.

It always upgrades the cost. So if you know what you have in your deck, you should have a good idea of what you're getting. If you play it on a 4 cost say, and the only higher cost you have left in your deck is an Infinaut, you're getting an Infinaut.

Judging by ur video I'm perplexed by ur hatred of this card. It was a favorable factor in to u winning the first 2 hands! The card performed perfectly. Not once did it compromise u or make life difficult for ur hand-- even when u started to complain at the end u realized it was helping you. This may be th case of u expecting to hate this card that even though it's helping u win ur focused on ur initial review ur blind to when it's actually helping u to win. We can only judge it by what u showed us in ur play and it worked great and did u zero harm....so I'm confused...😂
