Just saw these two shorts. They’re really cute, yet I’m wondering how long it took to make these. I know little about animation, yet even I’d expect that this took a while.

This is fantastic, this is the reason I love japanese animation! I feel like you guy's would've done amazing doing either a Mario or Sonic movie! Western animation too is fantastic but a lot of the times the models and rigs feel quite fleshy and too realistic even if we talk about stylized western animation.

@@_Jaaz I agree! As much as I like the Sonic movies, I can't help it but dream about what the studio that made the Unleashed opening and a lot of promo work for gen. would've done on the animation side. Of course a good director and writer also is important but let's focus on pure visual fidelity here!

@@FINGIEMAN That is true! Marza did help in regards of character animation if I remember correctly. Though I would love to see them do their own thing with Sonic but just as a animated movie like I mentioned above.

It comes down to the studio’s own skill and talent, not where the studio is from. There are plenty of Japanese studios that struggle with 3D animation and there are plenty of Western studios that excel at it. Also, many studios (no matter were they are based) often have people overseas help with production. Judge the quality by the studio, not location.

More people would accept 3D anime if it looked like this (or similiar), instead of trying to replicate/replace 2D styles

It depends on who does it and how its done, because theres definetly a good amount of 3D anime that replicates 2D styles that looks amazing, Dragon Ball Fighter Z, Guilty Gear, Beastars
