This song used to make people feel like monkeying around. My 8 year old brother once sang this song over and over again on a 400 mile car trip in 1971 when we were all little kids. He went overboard on it. 5 kids, 1 adult , 400 miles and no end to "Put the lime in the coconut and call me in the morning. DOCTOR! Is there nothing I can take? I said DOCTOR!" RIP, Mark. I miss you!

"Coconut" is a song written and first recorded by Harry Nilsson. The third single from his 1971 album, Nilsson Schmilsson, it reached #8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and it features three distinct characters (the narrator, the sister, and the doctor), all sung in different voices by Nilsson. The song is perhaps best remembered for its chorus lyric, "She put the lime in the coconut, she drank 'em both up." There are no chord changes; the only chord in the song is an arpeggiated C-7th." Wiki :)
