i HATE that people keep hating on mako mermaids! yes it's different from H2O but that's what makes it good! I wouldn't want to watch the same thing twice! I at first didn't like mako because I was holding on to H2O but now I LOVE IT (i think i like it more then H2O actually). Both shows have fantastic parts. I loved h2o because it was normal girls who became mermaids (it's relateable) and i liked the friendships that they showed. H2O was fun loving and amazing and i loved that the girls shared the powers (i wish mako had more sharing scenes and more of all 3 girls swimming scenes). I love mako because it has better story lines (trident, merman chamber, water dragon) and has themes that are I think a little bit more suitable for older audiences as well (h2o also had great themes but mako's themes are a bit darker in a sense - like consequences with evie's tail). And I love that mako revolves around losing the pod and getting them back. Like H2O was focused on a lot of fun, but there weren't central themes like mako which i actually really liked. Basically I loved them both and i hate when people hate on mako because it's different - that's the point why would they make the same show twice! they did an amazing job with both.

I actually couldn't agree more with you! I'm amazed how good you explained this, so I'm gonna pin the comment for more people to see this. They need to see this, honestly. You just took all the words out of my mouth lol. I wish people could see it the way we do!

:) It so true loll honestly, mako wins hands down with better story lines. The girls were focused on getting their home back that's such a beautiful concept. And each character arch was done so well because the characters were so layered and I loved that about the show. I feel like also h2o focused a lot of relationships and mako focuses more on family and friendships which i really liked a lot. Same! I wish people saw it the way we do :)

I'm still dumbfounded that Mako Mermaids is getting hated 10 years later, so i watched a bit of Mako back then after i didn't know this was a spinoff in the first place at the time until 2015-16 and i was almost those people that i didn't care or like it more neutral on it as i have been with a lot of stuff lately, but last year i did watched all of it before i rewatched H2O proper after so long a couple month back and to my surprise, i did not rip this show apart like other people did. Other than pacing issues, some plot holes that i didn't want to think too hard otherwise my brain would exploded or the main cast changed every season which is what got the most negatives from or the acting which it did slowly improve as it went at least imo, no i enjoyed it a lot more than i did, tho S1 is still fun if a bit rough.
