A solid adaptation that despite the cuts remained entertaining and well managed, my favorite of the season. It's funny to think that Sofia and Lancer could avoid all that mess just by talking, but they were such pretentious jerks to do it and that caused them to take the beating of their lives. Although the damn goddess got her way, that's the worst part :S

Tsukimichi novels and manga are clearly more detailed, because from the start this series is a slice of life genre, so the story-pace is a bit slow and Makoto's adventures seem more relaxed. But in the anime, they speed up the story-pace and because of that Makoto looks busy all the time.. even so, I see the animation results are still very good. Btw, in novel and manga, sometimes there are chapters about two other heroes (POV), so the explanation regarding the world setting become clearer.

If this followed the Manga it would have switched perspectives to the other two heroes midway through the season and then ended with this episode. Without the buildup to the war you kind of lose context on the Hyuman/Demon war and why it was nuts for Makoto to be dropped on the battle field. The war arc perfectly characterizes the other two heroes so we know exactly who they are for later when they start interacting with the main group. I hope season 2 goes back and shows the war arc. If they do fast paced episodes they could do it in like 3-4 episodes before jumping back into the Makoto story. If they just skip it then we are gonna lose a lot of important story.

To be specific, what they called him was "Deman" not exactly a demon, yet not exactly a human. Indiscriminate in his punishing of those who were taking part in the war.

@@cirnotheicefairy3609 Yea he is called Deman. The survivors from demons, hyumans, and demi-humans ended up living together. Seeing him as the punisher from the goddess. Some saw him as a boy in blue, a demi human in red, an archer, a swordsman, a mage.

I was really hyped for this when I saw the trailer. But mid-season my expectations dropped, I realized maybe it's a slice of life isekai, I guess I was expecting some Overlord/Slime-like story. Somehow, this episode and episode 11 restored my hype. Good thing Season 2 is confirmed. Hoping to have a higher-stakes story that involved the world. Also starting to read the manga.

To be fair, the anime practically adapted the prologue of Makoto's adventure in this world so it was logical that it was going to be a little "slow" or rather "quiet", for something they had to move things a little the last ones 2 episodes so they don't leave the wrong impression of the show's tone.

So i will tell some info on Mitsurugi. Mitsurugi is Dragon Like Shin/Tomoe thats why he was able to understand what Makoto is saying. Mitsurugi is Sword Dragon and Sophia is using his sword.... like Tomoe who is an Illusion Dragon..... Tomoe can create her Fragment (Komoe) ..Mitsurugi can create too in a form of sword.. thats why when Makoto destroyed the sword he was affected by him.

Also, Mitsurugi is the youngest and weakest of the Greater Dragons. While Shin/Tomoe is in the Top 3.

I read episodes 11 and 12 in the LNs today. Daaaaaayum. Of course, ya get mote. Makoto/Raidou(the name he actually gives them) REALLY underestimates how ridiculously strong he is. He has NO idea how intense that last arrow got, and he was just doing that to keep them distracted so he could mist gate out. He ruined both armies, and destroyed all of Sophia's specialty gear, plus, Lancer is a supreme dragon, just like Tomoe. They left out some really needed info. :/ Also, there are 3-4 chapters between 11 & 12 about those two heroes, and you find out how incredibly important the fight we see in 12 is. A LOT more is happening right before their fight. Big pp energy battle. Oh well, they can explain the results in SEASON 2!!!!!!!!!! If only our dear OP MC would clap some happy cheeks at home, he'd understand how mad strong he is.

Until the manga is finished, probably another 2 years, but that's just a guess from me so don't take my word. But aye, I highly recommend reading the light novel and the manga. I don't know much about the light novel except it's way far into the story, and the manga, the studio decided to tone down the dialogues and cutscenes were cut off. From Episode 1 - 12.

I think the dragon and slayer were a bit underwritten here. Some of the strongest things around that prob take their fights seriously and they don’t make the correlation of “this dude just took off and broke a ring and suddenly he’s super saiyan, he also has many other such rings. Maybe we are a bit in over our heads here”

Rewatched this on my 4th time. I have been steady reading the online Tsukimichi, and damn it is entertaining! Everything I have read really made the anime shiny. Makoto/Raidou keeps growing and learning. Mio continues to be OP and ridiculous. Tomoe stays Best Girl Forever. The other characters, the events coming, the OPness.....so wonderful.

Can't believe we have a goddess worse than Aqua, yeah Aqua is a useless party trick goddess but at least she doesn't teleport you to the middle of a war battlefield. Sure she might not like how you look, but she doesn't call you ugly and Remove your ability to talk and understand the humans from the world you're bout to be isekai to. Hell if you got traumatized so bad this goddess would probably be laughing her head off, while Aqua would possibly maybe confort you

Aqua is simply a useless goddess, this goddess is useless, ill-intentioned and very, very arrogant in the worst way. She only had about 2 min of screen time and she looks at all the hate that she already generated. Although she didn't "remove" anything from Makoto, the language here is different, she just didn't give him the human "translator" for that.

They skipped some minor backstories but overall they stayed true to the manga. Maybe they'll do an OVA for the skipped contents to tie us over till season 2 comes out. I know usually they like to have the manga a little farther along from the anime so we might not see season 2 for awhile. The anime ended pretty much close to where the manga is currently so it'll be hard to make a 12 episode.
