Well they all either used him in some way, or took him for a fool or abused his naiveté and him being too nice. The build up has been there for a while that he was getting angrier and angrier at being disrespected and now part 2 of season 2 is basically all of the payoff from it. I mean, last time he was too naive a hyuman killed one of his nicest people and a child (Kid Tomoe)... ain't no way he's gonna make the same mistake twice and let people step on him again.

Sophia is dragon slayer and Makoto could be dragon layer if he only wanted(actually he doesn't need to want it, he just needs to put down his guard around Luto) XD 8:46 Fun fact: in WN it was translated as Devil. He was known as Devil which makes more sense than sorcerer since it describes only him and honestly sounds way cooler. And survivors of battle for stella fort believed he was sent there to punish hyumans(I'm referencing that guy Tomoe was questioning at the star lake) so theme of being devil also matches here.

Just saying, but the part about Devil is just a translation difference. As the word "Majin" has different meaning depending on the Kanji used, which makes Sorcerer more accurate than Devil. Other accurate translation would be "Genie" or "Superhuman".

​@@Sup_D First thing, I don't really care if something technically is more correct if it fits worse. Second, I don't think you are right. Even though majin can be translated as sorcerer what is important is meaning behind the word not the word itself. When people describe Makoto as majin they don't mean just magic user because that describes like half of the world's population. The meaning they are going for is closer to supernatural being or something similar. Man at the star lake Tomoe was questioning said that the sorcerer was sent to punish hyumans. He said "So when we stray from the right path, who admonishes and punishes us? That is his responsibility". This is what makes me think "Devil" is more fitting. In western culture the devil is the one who punishes sinners which is perfectly in line with quote I gave you. Also the devil is someone who opposes the god so in this case it also is very fitting. There is more things that makes me think it fits but they are skipped content and spoilers so I'm not writing them here. Moreover after doing more research I found many sources translating majin as devil or evil spirit. Also from what I learned majin has two spellings. Both spellings first kanji is translated to demon/devil/supernatual/"evil spirit". If you are curious second kanji in one version means person and in other god/deity. I checked over 10 sources and among them there wasn't even a single one that would say something different. I mean there was some variation but devil/demon was probably the most common. After learning this much I would say that sorcerer is 'I guess' type of translation. Unless we are talking about dnd kind of sorcerer. That would be more fitting than common definition of sorcerer as just someone who uses magic because in dnd sorcerer is someone who was born from some kind of mistical being.

Yeah his mana power armor may look goofy, but it's absurd. It's something only he can make because it takes a ridiculous amount of mana to compress and materialize it into a physical form. So on top of its defensive power, since it is mana in physical form it amplifies his magic power output. What's even scarier, is that in the novel he describes its size as SLIGHTLY BIGGER than Io. So the anime has shrunk it down, for reasons. But just imagine, Makoto effectively has his own upgraded Susanoo. He's a BEAST

His parent actually teach makoto how to understand feeling better, that's when makoto first snap in season 1 after killing the human then he cry. In the context of Japanese language it was translated as Sorcerer, but if we talk about the actual term used and the context the word used by Sophia and Lancer is "Majin" which can have a few different meaning. "Majin is the Japanese word for jinn and its literal meaning: a magical person. Majin may also refer to: Any magic-user especially a human, a demon, or a genie. Person who is enhanced or created by magic either a magician or not. Any deity especially a magic deity, a demon deity, or a superhuman deity." - A definition I got from google just to show the image brought up by the term. Here Majin would be different than demons as it is used for non-demon people, it basically refer to an otherworldly magical person and with the connotation of being really strong on par with greater dragons who are about as strong as small deities basically (Basically falling into the magic and superhuman deity meaning). Honestly I think Sorcerer was a poor translation with no actual good word to express the actual meaning of the word that wouldn't clash with another title or character. So far the public don't know many people fitting the description.

"Majou" translates as Witch, "Ma" is short for Mahou and translates as Magic, "jou" is short for Shojou or Ojou and can mean Girl or Woman depending on the age obviously. Makoto is being called "Majin" which by the same logic can be literally translated as Magic Man, however depending on how it is written it can also translate as Demon. "Majin", besides being translated as Sorcerer, can also be translated as Witcher, Warlock and etc.

Idk personally I like Makotos imagination in terms of the let's say Mana Golem he forms around himself. Imo not lame at all. It looks ominous. The orange color may not be everyone's preference, but otherwise yeah as you admitted in your video, its power is undeniable. I haven't read the novels, but this is just ONE interpretation. Superior Dragons (Root/Tomoe/Lancer) don't have a sex. I'm not sure if they said it when (s)he was first introduced but Root only recently started being male. Well, I'm pretty sure it was mentioned but I can't remember the whole conversation. I know Tomoe asks Root, 'when did you start being a man' and during the reply I think Root mentions (s)he had a baby and some other stuff and says becoming a man was on a whim. I think (s)he even offers to become a woman again for Makoto and they show an image of Root as a man and woman. I'm pretty sure all of that is in the anime. Don't take my word for it though. Having said all that, it's still...I don't care what's on the inside...you have an Adam's Apple and a man's hands....

Because no one gives translators episodes several weeks ahead, it's usually hours, so the safe term "sorcerer" which doesn't clash with "demon" the translator picked before turned out to be wrong. In such cases usually translation keeps old wrong thing instead of coming up with something more fitting (which may be fixed after season ends), because changing stuff would just sow confusion who did what etc etc. After all no one's rewatching all aired episodes each week.
