These wonderful colours take me soaring over a fantasy world securely nested on the back of a favourite dragon. Its 'such a beautiful pour Mina. It began as three rings, each quite different and by choosing the best in each (midst my screams of "no not that bit") you created something wonderful. Please thank HoA for his brilliant camera work. You go together like a "horse and buggy". (grin)

Mina, you are an exceptional teacher as well as a painter!! You created a wonderful composition out of three quite different pours. I'm especially fond of the swirling golds and color bands in the two smaller pours on the left, but you wouldn't see them as well if it weren't for the contrasting style of the larger pour on the right, that has its own amazing color bands, soft washes, and deeper colors. This painting is beautiful! As is Genie and Cancer. Thank you, HoA, for your amazing filming and production. Sending all of you happy vibes and caring hugs ~Cheryl

Hi mina✌️I’m not a huge green fan but you’ve managed to make some very nice paintings with these greens lately so thank you for teaching me a few things about how nice green can be. 😻

As always a beauty. I love the way the darker green outlines the central bit. I always find it amazing when the paints do something we don't ask them to do but they manage to somehow enhance the painting. Also a quick note to HOA, you very kindly gave me some great advice re cameras. In the end I decided I couldn't justify a new camera at the moment, and I'd rather spend my money on paints and canvas. I did however get a much better tripod, that has helped improve my still picture taking greatly. I believe the very fact you and Mina are such a formidable team is what makes you the success on youtube that you are. Thank you again for your advice and help and your encouragement, much appreciated.

Wow, what an enjoyable video with the nice laugh you have. My husband will catch a portion of a video I’m viewing every once in awhile. He says to me, oh this is Mina. I was so thrilled that he had been paying attention to me and what I had been sharing about you. He said, not really, I do listen to you, although I know her laugh, she has a great laugh. So, I hope that’s a compliment to you, it was intended to be. He doesn’t give them out much either. He also is impressed with the way you are able to make the pours look so nice and be so much bigger then the majority of the others I view. Great job!

I did a ring pour in front of my hubby the other day and he held his breath the whole time. I looked at him and said "intense isn't it?" and went back to my flow extender. 😂 Thank you for sharing your knowledge bc this one was leaps and bounds better than the last one he watched me do. What I learned today: I'm still not using enough paint. I'm covering my canvas with the added flow extender, but I had to beg, borrow and steal drops off my table to cover the last corner. I wasn't able to make adjustments like you did today. Back to the mixing lab! 🐱 Edit: I'm so sorry autocorrect murdered my pay originally. I fixed it.

Beautiful! I wonder if you’d show us your drying area and how you protect your large pieces from bugs! Even inside I’ve had a bug decide to have a colorful death!
@MinaVillegasArt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Ami! My drying area is not at all exciting lol I've turned a small Tuffshed (garden shed thing) into my Studio. The paintings dry on a shelf at one end, and the big ones on the floor under the shelf. You guys would probably be horrified 😆 I have tried bug zappers, picnic mesh tents...HoA found the most effective solution last week and its been rather amazing to be honest. He found a magnetic closure mesh curtain and hung it in the doorway. All of a sudden there are NO BUGS.. Im amazed lol but its working! Its pretty cool that there are no handles or knobs, I just push it and it opens, then snaps back shut. The air is flowing thru it so things have been drying as usual, without the 'organic embellishments' from the gnats and moths. I wish we had gotten this curtain thing a year ago! The only drawback so far is opening it up to put my bigger canvases inside. HoA took some push pins and put them on the wall outside and made a loop on each so I can keep it open to get my freshly poured canvas inside. If I'm careful it works well lol if you are doing small canvases look into the picnic mesh tents I hope this helps ❤ www.amazon.com/dp/B0832KH3FY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Stunning. Can I add liquitex varnish in medium instead of varnishing after painting is dry?
@MinaVillegasArt4 жыл бұрын
Hi Josie In theory that should work, but it would be easier to just use the Gloss Medium that already has the varnish in there. If you do try adding varnish to pouring medium, do it on a small canvas to test. Im not sure what the ratio would be, I imagine the varnish would thin out the paint a lot. Let me know how it goes if you try it. The main reason I use the Gloss Medium as my pouring medium is so that I do not have to apply additional Varnish after its dry. www.amazon.com/dp/B001UNTH2S/ref=cm_sw_r_fm_apa_i_7zobFbSXSSZ7P

Do you have tips for helping pours dry in winter? I just ruined the first one I ever made because it was still wet in a couple places even after 4 days 😢 Also, loving your work from New Zealand!
@jenwyche72414 жыл бұрын
As usual, I love this piece! I've watched all of your videos (at least I think I have), but can't find a video where you show how you varnish and/or resin to seal your pieces. If you do have one, can you tell me what the video was called, or when you posted it? If you haven't, would you be interested in doing one? I have 2 36x36" commission pieces I need to either varnish or resin.
