I've been living in Málaga for 35 years, you did my town justice! Next time, you must try the espetos (spit roast sardines on olive wood fire), available at all beach restaurants.

Great video! I’ve never been to Malaga, but then all over most other parts of Spain, including Seville, Granada, Madrid, Cadiz, Asturias. I loved your visual on the cruise ship docking. I will never take a mega ship. I was recently on the Azamara ship and it docks front and center.

Málaga - since I lived there for some time, it's my love, ond of the most beautiful cities in the world. Yes, the world!, since it offers not only spectacular views, beaches, surroundings (Marbella is close, white villages like Mijas as well are)and buildings but also a very rich cultural life which is important - at least for me- if you live there for longer. Also the Muelle Uno which you had to pass by from your ship is one of the nicest port areas with many interesting shops, very lively in the evening( it doesn't show its beauty so much during day time), in winter it even comes with a Christmas market. Thank you for your very interesting video👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️

Hi there, many thanks for your comment. Yes, we really enjoyed our port stop in Málaga. It's a beautiful city, and has so much to see. The Muelle Uno is indeed a lively and fun area! Thanks for watching the video. We have several more in our series on Spain coming up!

I was in Malaga for a few days about 2 weeks ago. I flew there so can't comment on the cruise ship side of things. It's a very nice city with historic buildings including the castle, the roman amphitheatre and the cathedral and some lovely open spaces - parks and plazas. In the beautiful narrow streets around the cathedral you'll find plenty of choice for restaurants from fine dining to bar food, with a great choice of tapas. The moorish influence is everywhere, making for fantastic architecture. Malaga deserves more than a day's visit as there's so much to do and see ( not least the Pompidou centre or the Picasso museum) plus you're only a 2 hour bus ride from Granada and the Alhambra. Temperature was about 26°C when I was there. Perfect for just shirt sleeves and light trousers even late at night.

Hi there, yes totally agree with your thoughts, we really enjoy Málaga!

@ritzytravelguide You mentioned you thought it wasn't worth going to granada due to the travel time. It isn't that bad if you're happy to get uo to catch a bus for about 9 o'clock. The alhabra closes at 6 in winter months and 8 otherwise. You do need to book tickets for both the alhambra (weeks in advance if you want the full choice of tours) and the bus. Neither are expensive. We caught the 11 o'clock bus, cheap uber to the alhambra, beer and tapas after, bus back at 9 to malaga in time for cocktails and back to the rented apartment. Interestingly, Granada is the only place in Spain, I'm told, that still does free tapas with a drink. The tapas get better with each round.

@seamusoflatcap Hi, you are spot on about the free tapas.... When we were in Granada on a separate trip, we availed ourselves of far too many tapas, and jugs of Sangria. We zig zagged our way back after about 3 jugs!

@ritzytravelguide Sounds . . . interesting 🤣 I've been to malaga twice so not too bothered about going again but I'd have liked more time to explore Granada. I'd better start saving some pennies.

Malaga looks a lot better than I imagined. Being from Western Australia, the heat wouldn't really bother me.

Hi Joan, yes Málaga has a lot to offer. We enjoyed it!

It's often not THAT hot, can also be very windy, weather changes a lot. As it does in Australia😘, my daughter lives in Perth, in Cairns and Adelaide also since 20 years. Greetings to Oz from Spain🇪🇦, Jerez de la Frontera. Jerez de la Frontera is also worth a visit since it's the city of the famous sherry ( all known bodegas are in Jerez: Osborne, Harvey's, Gonzalez Bias, all offering sherry tasting). Also it has a famous flamenco festival every February/March, the Andalusian horse riding school and a racing track where the Grand Prix of Spain (Gran Premio de España) is held every year, also it's used in winter for test races of Formula 1 .

@danielawillbold880 Hi there, many thanks for your tips and ideas of what to do. Yes, there is so much to see. It really is one of our favourite regions to visit. Absolutely agree with Jerez, we went Sherry tasting there, and will include that trip in a future video 😊

@ritzytravelguide9 ай бұрын
Hi, we stayed at Hotel Barcelona Universal. It is quite a good location for easy access to the cruise port. By coincidence we will be on the Celebrity Infinity at the end of March this year. On a Greek itinerary. We'll be posting our thoughts on the ship in a future video series
