Is Malaga THE BEST City to Live?

I live in Malaga, and I know Barcelona well. For me, Malaga wins hands down. Every time. The people, the culture, climate, cost of living etc. It has it all.

You are very right about the energy in Malaga. It is a very lively city--something you don't find in other Spanish cities (at least the ones I have visited). This is because of the people coming in from all parts of the world. I fervently hope Malaga does not become like Barcelona. At least the people of Malaga are nowhere as rude as the ones in Barcelona.

Absolutely! One of the biggest selling point of Malaga is the people….. so welcoming and always in the mood of doing something. We really think that in the next 10 years…. Malaga will be shining a lot more on global scale.

Definitely, Malaga has just won title of “Best place in the world to live as an expat” Prices have shot up a lot recently since after Covid Malaga has found new fame as people are preferring quality of life over money. How long this trend continues has yet to be seen. Area around Calle Larios is a gold mine for holiday rental market.

How many days should i spend in malaga? Very limited days though

To explore the city itself you don’t need more than a couple(one night and two days is fine) but if you want to base yourself in Malaga and explore “Costa del Sol” with places like Ronda, Caminito del rey, Torcal national park, Nerja and Marbella etc you probably need a week. Check our video about free days out in Costa del sol to get an idea and from there you can choose what you want to include in your itinerary.

The jobs are still mainly in the hospitality sector, we met a few people working in tech industry but they were mainly from overseas with high degrees and English proficiency. I think its not there yet but slowly the job sector is diversifying.

Por favor Barcelona noooo. Málaga es mucho más que eso, no compareis. En Málaga la gente es más libre que en Barcelona por favor , no estamos infectados de independentismo.Mercado inmobiliario para quien para ricos. Realmente no me demuestras que conoces mucho Málaga, todo lo nuevo va encaminado para los ricos, si genera riqueza uhmmm para la gente sencilla todo es más caro a los ricos se las chufla

Lo entiendo y estoy de acuerdo, la gente de Malaga es mucho más real 😊 Sin embargo, Malaga se está convirtiendo en una ciudad más grande muy rápidamente con grandes compañías internacionales que quieren invertir en la ciudad, como Google y Huawei. Desafortunadamente eso conlleva cosas buenas y malas. Yo soy de Cádiz capital y los precios también han subido dramáticamente 😢

@@thepakspan Huawei lleva 15 años en Málaga, y emplea muy poca gente. Vodafone ya tiene un hub que va a emplear al menos a 600 ingenieros, Google, Oracle, Ericson, el BBVA, Banco Santander, The Workshop, Capgemini y un largo etcetera creando puestos de trabajo y riqueza. Cierto es que los precios de los pisos han subido, pero prefiero esto a la Málaga de hace 2 o 3 décadas, donde el centro estaba muerto y había que salir con navaja. Eso sí, no lo desgraciemos.

@@Odiseio hace 30 años en Málaga había una cosa que mataba y hacia mucho daño,,,,un caballo llamado muerte algo así como la heroína ,hoy gracias a Dios Málaga es diferente pero vamos a cuidarla porque se la estamos entregando a la gente de dinero y te aseguro que eso no es bueno ni tanto ni tampoco pero por desgracia nosotros poco podemos hacer, pero vivir solo de eso es mal negocio , te lo digo por experiencia.
