My mom played this at home all the time when I was a kid; she was fabulous! She could have been a concert pianist but would never perform in front of people. I did get her to promise to play it for my wedding. Sadly, she developed advanced Parkinson's Disease and by the time I got married, she was completely unable to play. I so miss this piece of music. You play almost exactly the way she did and it brings back to be a flood of emotions and memories. Thank you so very much!

I learned this in 1971 and loved every moment of practice it took to play it correctly. Due to disability I can no longer play but this has brought joy to my heart. Thank you for an outstanding performance.

My mother played it and I loved watching her but due to not keeping up with it after her mid-30's or so and then arthritis she can no longer either. It saddens her maybe a little but for me, watching this brought joy to my heart of what a great piece it is and this woman's performance I love.

My mother was a very accomplished pianist as well. She'd played this as well as many other types of classical. I'd love to lay on the sofa & just relax, almost like in a trance, half asleep, listening to her. she stared teaching me when I was 4, Still don't know if I ever got as good as here. Boy, I sure miss it. Her version sounded like this as well. Bravo!

@@pianowoman I grew up listening to Liberace and many others, but I think your rendition is the most beautiful I've had the pleasure to listen to. I was 10 years old when this was written / composed. It took my Grand Father 1 year to master it. In later life I devoted 5 years to learning it on the classical guitar but never achieved perfection. Thank you again for sharing it, from the bottom of my heart.

This reminds me of how my grandmother played it. Jeanne Vanyo, a popular concert pianist in NYC. She's almost 85 now, and I've heard her play this song countless times on my upright, and I never get tired of listening to it. Congratulationa, Anat. You are extremely talented.

My mother's take on it was a little different, I guess I thought it was more classic classical and now I have watched several versions on KZbin and SEE how Spanish it is. Your version I love because I never saw it as such dance. I can visualize in my head the dance of the music and that is really cool.

Nasa Space Exporations lecuona was against Fidel and his revolution.. lecuona is buried in New York and he asked to be buried in Cuba only after the revolution is no more.

In the Soviet Union, this piece was the main theme in a TV Spanish lesson. This was my first “touch” with the Spanish culture at the age of 5 or 6 and this masterpiece is forever associated with Spain. Beautiful performance, I thank you very much for the memories!
