I believed I may never see this, and that is okay, given the current world situation! I am proud to have received my Malahit DSP2 and I am very content with this SDR. In this episode, I give a very brief overview of the SDR and the basic features of it.
18650 Batteries are needed (2) for this SDR. I purchased these, though I doubt they are 5800mAh (We'll test that soon). - amzn.to/35WFAn2

It looks like an excellent radio at a very reasonable price. The only issue is, actually getting one! The CW decode looks like it's pretty accurate. I would like to have one and feed it via my transceivers IF out, making it a portable band scope. Once you get used to a band scope its not the same without one! One morning last week I woke up at 3am and could not go back to sleep so I went to the shack and turned on my ic7610. There was a decent signal on 20 meters and I jumped on it. I was in a qso with South Africa within 10 seconds of turning on my radio! If it hadn't have been for the band scope I would not have been the first guy answering his call! de K4TEN

Would certainly be interested in a deep-dive of all the features and settings. I can't find a lot of good info on all the settings. It's an amazing radio, and I'm able to receive so much more than on my portables.

Was the Amazon one rotary controls, was that the actual knobs like standard knobs, or is it the rocker style recessed controls for frequency and volume ? Do you know what the version number is ? What version do you have now ?

What was keeping me from getting this radio was the display-generated internal noise at various frequencies. Is that still an issue or has it been addressed?

Noise is real noticeable below 5 MHz when using whip antenna. Press the Volume Encoder in until a tone is heard. The whip-display noise goes away. Now when you do that, the touch screen is disabled but you still see the spectrum/ waterfall screen. Your encoders work fine in touch screen disable mode. Now if you need to select a menu, or direct tune by entering a freq., then you need to reactivate the touch screen. Push volume encoder again until tone is heard and touch is restored, but so is the noise. Kind of convoluted process but it works fine. Malahiteam has redesigned the DSP2 to become DSP3 where the touch screen interface will now be configured in parallel and that supposedly fixed the display noise issue. I will have a DSP3 by FEB and will see for myself. The DSP2 is no longer in production.

I would like to give you a slight correction on the telescopic antenna. It wont replace the big HF rig outside. but with proper tuning you can recieve much !!!. Even a few weeks ago i was be able to hear full QSO with Australia in Europe on the telescope.. the other Om was in Latvia. I could hear them both... So please give this a correction...

Why is there a frequency gap between 200 and 400 MHz?
@joeh23
@joeh23 Жыл бұрын
From another website: It is a hardware limitation of the PLL in the MSi001 chip. The gap is actually a little smaller, only 263MHz-390MHz

@@HAMRADIODUDE What could happen, if it's a fake or a clone? That it receives absolutely nothing or something like that?
@Harvestersz
@Harvestersz 7 ай бұрын
@@andreasg7834 There are a couple of main problems with the clones. One is that most (all?) come with a 'test' version of the operating software that is not fully functional. The official ones come pre-registered, fully functioning, and can be updated to newer software as it is released. The clones can not be updated. The second problem is the quality of the components as well as the physical build quality. Many of the clones will drift because of the crap components used to build them. The knobs on these clones have also been known to be flaky in operation.
