@@timtom429 actually Vidyasagar has that skill of updating. If you examine his music you will understand that. Always his music had fresh sounding and I have not seen a music director as diverse as Vidyasagar. Be it modern Western style or indian classical or folk or melody aur fusion music and what not he has done. That to he has done varieties in all these genres I mentioned. Mm keeravani had a rajamouli to take him to the new generation. if Vidyasagar also had someone like that definitely he would have active even now.

The problem with Vidyasagar was he prioritised quantity over quality by composing for several small budget movies that went unnoticed. Also, he didn’t have good partnership with leading directors to take him to next level. Vidyasagar was at his peak during 2002-2006. But gradually his fame started declining. Some of his big movies didn’t do well in the box office like Paramasivan, Adhi, Kuruvi etc.

Mm keeravani had rajamouli to take him to next generation and new age music. I wish had there been someone like that for Vidyasagar as well. Because Vidyasagar has a long lasting skill and also ability to upgrade. In 90s after a r Rahman it is Vidyasagar who produced fresh sounding in music

Vidyasagar was literally the AR Rahman of Malayalam cinema. He literally made a movement in Malayalam music like how a r Rahman made in Tamil cinema and South Indian music
