Mike, you provide the best instruction I’ve seen. I’m 78 and have been playing golf for 60 years.

Mike changed my life, I have watched every major teacher on the web but Mike is by far the best. No need to watch any other teacher.

Sir, I just recently finished my college golfing career and plan on trying to play professionally. I have been mostly self taught for most of my life so I am a feel player and I have never been able to relate to most teachers ways of thinking. After watching this video for the first time in my life I finally have seen something that expresses my exact thoughts and theories on the golf swing. Bravo!!

I'd give anything to take lessons with this guy! He has the ability to determine which, among many, flaws then fix them in a logical sequence.

His ability to communicate his understanding so well is insane. Mike knows the golf swing.

Wow, Why has it taken me so long to find your videos they are GREAT! So much information boiled down into simple examples. Turing to Winter here now, but I have a indoor net to use when it's to cold. Your book is on it's way. Looking towards reading and applying your training.

Woooooowwwww...this is brilliant!... This is how you teach. Relate to what people already know and CAN! Wonderful Mike. A shame I came accross this only now.

Just wanted to say it's great to see someone teaching this. I never focused on face until reading Bob Toski's book "How to feel a real golf swing" Then found some videos with you and Bob and it brought me to your channel. Great videos and thanks for posting these.

Mike, or anyone else who cares to respond, I rediscovered something long forgotten with my grip and it felt like one of those infamous "aha" golf moments. I say rediscovered because it's something that I did naturally and instinctively when I first started playing golf, until enough people told me it was wrong. Here it is; as a left handed golfer, if I rotate my grip until my left (bottom) hand until it is almost completely underhand, palm up, I strike the ball with much greater consistency. I believe someone teaches this as an impact setup grip. I've seen it on KZbin before and seems like basically the same thing I'm describing. Why does this work for me? Is it a compensation for something else I'm doing wrong? It feels completely natural and effortless, like it's something I should be doing. And it produces results.

I agree 100 percent, so if that’s the case, why aren’t grips more oval or squared off? Or even formed with molds to your hand? May seem like a silly question., but I’m just curious.

Being a very good ping pong player, you impart pure topspin by coming straight over the top, the topspin mike is showing is side spin designed to move one way when it hits the table. But he is right about good golfers are good a table tennis.

So, does a "flip" just not exist? Or if it does, do you not consider it a bad thing to do in a golf swing?

great stuff, thanks...

Mike If the club is constantly rotating through impact how do you get the face in the desired position for the shot? Are you doing this with the body ? or are you holding off the face in the spot you want it in for "that" particular shot ? Please clarify. thanks
@russelllittler81457 жыл бұрын
So, I'm left handed in everything I do "except" golf. There is no way on Gods earth I could throw a stone with my right hand, and It's hard to imagine holding that club face in my right hand (as you advocate). Is this why I lack consistency of ball striking and direction? I've been stuck off 10 for years and don't seem to be getting any better?

one cannot naturally square the club face and manipulate it at the same time. your videos are contradictory.
@MalaskaGolf7 жыл бұрын
At impact, a face square to the plane hits the ball straight. An angled face - which may be called "manipulated" - creates curve.
@senorchipotle7 жыл бұрын
Agreed. But the "#1 downswing theory" video advocates a "natural" squaring of the clubface, which appears to mean by the body acting centripetally. Physiologically speaking, to my best knowledge one cannot do both. Once the arms engage, that centripetal momentum ceases because the body pivot stalls.

i like this guy but what serious player didnt already know this? Golf is a game of opposites, hit down it goes up. Swing left it curves right.
