Some are like that, even if a lot may see it as the empire= the emperor kinda. or even the emperor > the empire. The imperials did give me many vibes of being loyal the the empire first if they have a choice though. Just that they're playing it smart/cool.

And then turns around and betrays a sith. I was more impressed than I was slighted. A rank and file officer pulling a Sith lord maneuver was respectable. What regular dude has the courage and confidence to do that to the indestructible killing machine you've become at that point.

Gotta say, as somebody who mains non Force-user classes, I can sort of understand why he did it. It never ends well when regular folks get dragged into Sith affairs - being pitted between two Sith is probably a worst nightmare scenario. He was just trying to make the best of a shit situation.

@Patrick Cossack Oh, that's a certainty. He always kept Quinn on a tight leash because of what happened with Moff Broysc. Quinn was assigned to us by Baras from the very beginning. I believe... to keep a close eye on SW. With SW being his strongest apprentice, without a doubt- he would put tabs on us and prepare for when we get strong enough to have our own powerbase. Self preservation. Once an apprentice has outlived their usefulness and becomes a rival, you must prepare for them to retaliate. It's literally part of being Sith. It's what I would do. I'm just more offended that Quinn thought a couple of droids would kill me. I mean, we take on ENTIRE armies. A couple of droids aren't shit to SW. He should have sent a shit ton of sith assassins or sent SW into a trap immediatly like Thanaton did. Of course, after the aquisition of Jaesa. That for me would be a deal breaker.

Well this situation is a no brainer for Quinn. He made the wrong choice though. It’s even worse with an in progress romance where you can break up with him, beat him, and then force choke him to near death. I think that’s called an unforgivable betrayal.

The first time I played this, I was totally surprised for a number of reasons. One, I expected it would be Jaesa that would betray me somewhere along the road, due to the old apprentice kills the master thing, nope. Two, one of Malavai's dislikes is betrayal , so I never thought I would have to worry about him turning against me, dead wrong. Three, there was never anything this interesting with other companions on other classes, so I didn't think that I'd really be fighting any of them, well maybe there was a few others, but if I give names I'd spoil someone :P. There are more reason I could list, but I doubt it would make much of a difference. Anyhow, I for one enjoyed this quest, and Malavai is still one of my top favorite companions.

LS Jaesa dialogue goes like this: You: Quinn, this is a terrible mistake. We will make the Empire better. Quinn: Stop pretending... blabla (don't remember actually). Jaesa: Master, his confidence is quite high. I see little to no doubt in him. The rest is the same as with DS Jaesa, so Quinn hoped that Jaesa wouldn't have used her power on him.

Am i the only one here who actually fully forgives Quinn? From the get-go any authority i had over him was granted to me by Baras when he transferred him. I was shocked and saddened that he chose Baras over me, but i can hardly fault him for acting out of loyalty to his master. You can tell this was not an easy decision for him to make, considering his words and tone. Betrayal from conflicting loyalties is more forgivable to me than betrayal for personal interest, like what that asshole Baras did. Honestly i was more insulted that he thought 2 measly droids was enough to take me down.

You are not the only one. While I do not take kindly towards betrayal I saw the truth of his circumstances. It is as you say he didn't do it out of personal interest necessarily but out of conflicting loyalties, was it out of personal interests I would have killed him without a doubt. But seeing as it was out of conflicting loyalties I forgave him, mostly because he actually understood loyalty to a certain point that it was tearing him apart, which is more than I can say for many others in the Empire.

Quinn's betrayal seems shortsighted and very overconfident in retrospect. Sure, he's had a chance to study your fighting style, but between the player and Baras, only the player is in a position to actually kill Quinn. And Baras wouldn't take kindly to betrayal, but absolute loyalty is no guarantee that you'll be safe from him, either. I mean, Quinn sees that with his own eyes when Baras betrays the player.

Since I knew this would happen, when Quinn ask what is next after you become lord, I had my Sith Warrior directly tell him we were going after Baras. It made Baras sudden betrayal feel very legitimate, because he essentially knew without a doubt I would have betrayed him first if I had the chance.

Would be cool if 2 things were available. You can refuse companions (if they really had to, you HAD to accept your first companion on Hutta/Korriban with the rest being refusable) During these types of betrayals, you are capable of killing the companion if you were REALLY pissed, though it would come with a prompt saying "Warning! You are losing further dialogue with X."

My first play-through of this game was with a Sith Warrior, I went full dark side all the way and it bothered me to no end that the game gave you no option to kill Quinn, or at the very least kick him off the ship. Considering how he betrays you, it makes zero sense that your character would ever trust him again. And If you are alone with him on the mission you have no option to reveal his betrayal to the rest of the crew.

Love or hate him he just makes the story better, like Kaliyo. And at the very end of the day, he's just another victim of Baras. If the Wrath betrays the Empire on Iokath, he will plea switch sides to stand with you. He's a great character that is not boring.

Loyalty was all to him, but the problem is that his loyalty was always with Baras,, The problem is in calculations, how can you truly "calculate" someones strength and weaknesses? He was wrapped up in his own calculations forgetting there were things far outside his control.. Like the immense strength in the force of the character.. That power took the likes of Baras off-guard so obviously it does the same to some fool like Quinn. And why do so many want to kill him? Apart from a general Sith idea that betrayal is always punishable by death.. I mean he basically threw you under the bus against 2 droids specifically programmed by him to kill you.. If you were laying wounded on the ground he would have killed you.. And If he really didn't want to betray you, then why walk you in that trap in the first place? Scared of Baras? He of all should know how terrrified Baras was because of the strength of his apprentice.. So he was close to the one person whom he knew could protect him from his wroth.. And upon defeat he himself said that he expects no mercy, because it is certainly out of character for most Sith to grant mercy to anyone.. Especially a traitor.. Let alone showing mercy and even being allowing him back in your service pretending it never happened.. That is a stunt you might see a Jedi pull but not from the large majority of Sith.. Especially those very "dark" in the force..

I have to say, this scene doesn't work. I mean Quinn betrays the Sith Warrior, taunts the Warrior, and tries to kill the Warrior. I mean even if the Warrior decides to not kill him, just think what type of an"accident" resulting in Quinn going through an airlock that Vette and Pierce would arrange. Imagine Broonmark tearing Quinn up in his quarters. Oh, just imagine what Dark Side Jaesa would do to him.......slow flaying alive with a lightsaber might be the mildest option.

When I got to this part of the game i was really hoping to drive my lightsaber through his heart for the betrayal was actually doing a Darth Revan themed character and thought force choking Quinn would lead to him being killed but at least the expansion will allow us to kill him. honestly i've put a lot of thought into quinn's betrayal, it makes sense and is generally very tragic. my first playthrough was a female sith warrior that romanced him, so this definitely caught me off guard. the hints are there quinn tries to leave your crew under the guise of his attachment to you, but i believe the main reason he wants to leave the crew is plausible deniability "lord baras, she reassigned me, there's not much i can do" kinda situation. then again he seems confident, happy in his decision to betray the sith warrior, even jaesa says that she senses nothing but confidence in him, so am i wrong? did he just commit to it to save his own hide? hinestly its confusing, but i'd say he doesn't deserve death for it, but he certainly deserves to be removed from the crew and throne into an imperial prison, i'm far more concerned with his reactions to pierce and vette personally, its one thing defying a sith who can clearly defend herself, but vette and pierce? i doubt either of them would be able to stand against baras. his betrayal would've been a lot weaker if he just offered EVERYONE a free pass to leave the warrior, quinn never liked vette and certainly always hated pierce. overall its an incredible tragedy and the writers did incredibly with this, especially since it feels like the "official" path is bringing quinn as your companion since the way quinn incapacitates the other companions doesn't make a ton of sense. honestly i'd love it if lucasfilm made a "tales of the old republic series" and included some moments from kotor, the mandalorian wars, kotor 2 and swtor. 2 episodes for each character that is chosen

LOL I actually went to Corellia first to see for myself if there was a blockade and/or space battle, because last time I did a flashpoint like that it was dreadfully long and boring and hoped to skip it. You can land on Corellia without trouble, so I knew it had to be a trap, there's always a trap in SW xD But the game doesn't let you continue without this. I got the golden Ru fella warn about betrayal, I was so sure it was either LS Jaesa or Quinn. Or both, since shouldn't Jaesa have had felt Baras's presence, even if Quinn had utmost confidence in doing the right thing, ending a mutiny against Baras?

Every time I watch old videos of SWTOR I get sucked back into a month of two of playing the game. Might not be a great MMO, but at least some of the stories really were worth it. Sure they really stumbled with the first few xpacs (can hardly look at what they did to Revan T_T, I R Disappoint) before they really hit their stride again with the whole eternal throne arc.
