Though disagreeing with the referee's justment for the penalty kick given to Malaysia team on the first goal score instead of a free kick given to Thailand team, I still be moved by those performance of the both teams. Malaysian tactic, hard tackle, was able not only to stop Thailand team passing shot but to get goal score as well. That's what Thailand team including their staffs have to learn and improve themselves to hand with such a situation on the next match and for more tough competitor. Hope Thailand team keeps going. And thanks to Malaysia team for impressive game tonight.

Malaysia did unexpectedly great today. Although Thailand won the cup, Malaysia won the match 3-2. It is the first time in more than a decade that Thailand lost a match to Malaysia, and I think our head coach Kiattisak could no longer say that he never lost to Malaysia (he either won or draw with Malaysia previously as both a player and and coach). Today, we were under immense pressure and for a moment I thought Malaysia got the better of our Thai team. Dollah really planned the game extremely well and the Tigers gave their 100%. Congratulations to Malaysia for such a spectacular performance today!

Congrats to Thailand. Deserving winners of AFFCUP 2014. You guys are just too good for us. I thought at 3-0 it was game over and I was celebrating like hell because we totally did not deserved it but then you brought us down to earth. Dollah Salleh once again played stupid long balls, whole fucking tournament keep playing long balls and waiting for opponent to make mistake. The penalty was a stupid dive by Norsharul. Something wrong with the refs in this tournament, give us 4 soft penalties already. Think only 2 of the penalties was real penalties. 2nd goal was Thai defence mistake, 3rd goal was brilliant from Safiq. Hope we change coach too, Thailand outplayed us for 2 match and made us look like some schoolboys. We always play so violent, should have had 3 players sent off in the first half alone. Very stupid from Indra Putra to deliberate whack the Thai player. Peace from Malaysia~~ enjoy your win Thais

yes anderson.. because your are singaporean . and there's some oppinion from malaysian who might be never play competitive soccer in his life.. nor sharul was wrong but have you ever see any professional player do worst than nor shahrul ? the answer is yes .. Rooney , rivaldo , ashley young , suarez , ronaldo to name a few and they even shout / falling like being shot on the leg ( its an oppurtunity to get a Penalty you stupid. .) Thai did outplayed malaysia the last 20 minute in the first and second leg ( its 0-0 before 70 min and 3-0 before 80 minutes ) . for me its a masterclass from coach Dollah Salleh . Long ball yes its kindda boring but you need to look at the AGE of malaysia player on the field ?? but hey, 2nd goal came from a cross and the 3rd goal resulted from a foul when malaysia player play short pass towards the Thais gol. Yes malaysia player like indra and safee sali did make a bad foulplay and it was stupid especially safee sali.. but That deserved to win because they took their chance well. p/s: pehal yang orang singapore ni tak puas ati tak masuk final nape ntah ?? better luck on 2016 k... the best and smart team will always go to final... keep that in mind.. nobody score 3 , 4 goal for luck !!

Farid Rafiq I don't understand the Malay part, but you are pretty fair too. Agree that the Malaysian players were really old and sometimes you need to use boring long balls to win. I think Thais created much more chances and should have taken their chances much better actually, very one sided final in both legs.

Congrats to Thailand. It was tough for Thailand to come back 2 goals but they had the fighting spirit and never game up - coming pretty close though. I praise Malaysia for excellent play on 2 leg. I think our teams can be of the best in Asia and have better chance to enter world cup in the future. We need to continue to aggressively and correctly train for all aspects(techniques, phychology, diet) starting from young age, educate, support, expand/improve premier league etc. We can use German training is good start.

Malaysia performed amazingly well today. If they played fairly, it'll be even better! I agree that Thailand performed below standard, most probably because of the bad field condition that does not favor the "Tik-Tok" playing style. In addition, I think they're also affected by the enormous Malaysian fans. However their spirit to never give up really does pay off. Apart from the first doubtful penalty, it was really a great match between two teams. Thailand however shown the team exactly deserves to be King of Asean. Passing shot speed outshines any other Asean countries. Zico is phenomenon. Hopefully one day he can develop the team to the same level as Japan or Korea.

kiattikhun tanagul I will try to explain from my limited understanding of SG and MAL relationship. It's because of the tense rivalry between SG and MAL at many things, especially economically. This spills into football as they try to outdo each other during the past 20+ years. During the qualifying round of this tournament, SG just needed a draw with MAL to qualify. The score was 1-1 for nearly 90 minutes. They thought they qualified but then at 91' the referee gave a controversial penalty to MAL causing MAL to lead 2-1. With 2 minutes OT left, SIN goalkeeper went up to MAL's box for best chance to even up to 2-2. So there is no goalkeeper at the SG side. Then a quick counter attack by MAL at the last minute easily got the ball rolling slowly into the SG net with nobody there. It becomes a joke that MAL fans like to play on the SG side. Someone even created the video mocking the SG team. The SG fans are angry because: (1) they felt the late penalty was not justified and they were "robbed" of qualifying into the semi; many accuse MAL of bribing the referee, (2) the score became 3-1 giving MAL bragging rights when it was actually a very close match with 1-1 at 89 minute into the match. It is quite painful for SG as defending champion to lose that match to their arch rival (and economic rival). MAL fans making the missing goalkeeper joke therefore is like rubbing more salt to their wounds.

Thai young players were pressured by the presence of home fans' roaring audience against them, and the 1st doubtful penalty goal from Malaysia increased their strains so much that they couldn't move at will. The 2nd and 3rd goals from Malaysia were great and even disheartened the Thai team. However, once the young and energetic Thai players could regain their mental control, they resumed their strengths and forged ahead 2 goals towards victory. I watched Thai young players interview... nobody complained about the home fans. They actually prefer to play among the crowd. They worried a bit about the ref after questionable penalty, but not so much... it was more about the terrible pitch, the sand under the grass which made couldn't control the ball the way they want.

Yes, I watched the interviews on CH3 and ThaiPBS yesterday too. It was the early first goal that disrupt their plans, and the 3rd goal that shook them most, causing them to lose their ability to think clearly and to make a lot of mistakes. Their state of mind was like that for 10 minutes. So glad that they recovered quickly after that.
