Barcelona 2013 and 2014 was destroyed by counter attacking teams and defensive strategies (example of their elimination by Bayern Munich and Atlético de Madrid) so Luis Enrique had to re arrange the team. Rakitic was playing instead of Xavi while Fabregas and Alexis Sánchez left the club so they had to change the attacking front. Messi was getting into a more playmaker role, allowing Suárez to be the finisher the team needed. Less focus on possession, but lethal on counter attacking.
