Malaysia is said to be planning to acquire the Su-57 stealth fighter jet from Russia

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM/RMAF) is said to be interested in acquiring the Russian fifth generation fighter jet, the Su-57 (NATO: Felon ).
the purchase of this stealth fighter jet would be part of the 14th Malaysia Plan for the procurement of the next Multirole Combat Aircraft (MRCA).
One squadron of aircraft will be acquired to replace the Su-30MKM (NATO: Flanker ) fleet in 2035.
Based on the RMAF's previous schedule, outlined in the Capability Development 2055 (CAP55) roadmap, the Su-30MKM would be phased out and replaced with an all-new fifth generation fighter, in 2030-2035.
However, under a bold and ambitious new plan, the RMAF began aggressive and accelerated force modernization exercises.
Other programs planned are the upgrade of 18 Sukhoi Su-30MKMs to 'Super Flanker' standard, the acquisition of ex-Kuwait Air Force (KAF) stock of F/A-18C/D Hornets as well as aerial refueling aircraft.
The RMAF requires that the MRCA be a twin-engine fighter with high combat persistence, long flight duration, and can accept mid-air refueling.

Correction, the RMAF will use the F/A18 until 2035 with several upgrades. In addition, the RMAF plans to increase the number of Legacy Hornets from Kuwait. As long we have enough money we can buy it, BUT it doesn't come cheap.

The first phase CAP 55 is a 10-year program that RMAF will focus on by inducting new maritime patrol aircraft (MPA), Medium Altitude Long Endurance Unmanned Aerial Systems (MALE UAS), Fighter Lead-In-Trainer (LCA/FLIT), new helicopters and training aircraft, along with new radars and air defense systems. 2. The second phase will run from 2031-2045 and will focus on new Multi-Role Combat Aircraft (MRCA) Since F/A18 will be retired by 2035 and Su30MkM by 2040, RMAF future fast jet fleet will be two types, a multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA) and a light combat aircraft (LCA) divided into five squadrons. Based on past and current squadron strength. I'm assuming the MRCA (18x5 squadrons) will have 36 aircraft while the LCA is 54. 3. In the final phase of CAP-55 from 2046 to 2055, the RMAF will be focusing on transport squadrons will be reduced to three squadrons from the current four while the type will be reduced from four to two. The first transport squadron will be for the strategic/MRTT roles while the two others will be tactical airlifters. Finally, RMAF has not specified the types of aircraft it hopes to buy, by that time RMAF will have several options starting from Su57, KF21, KAAN - 5Gen and The Future Combat Air System (FCAS) is a European combat system of systems under development by Dassault Aviation, Airbus and Indra Sistemas. The BAE Systems Tempest is a sixth-generation fighter aircraft that is under development. By 2035-2045 I think Su57 will be obsolete.

Kalau Malaysia beli SU-57 dari Russia, kemungkinan Amerika Syarikat akan "sanction" Malaysia. Juga, pengalaman pahit Malaysia semasa menggunakan MiG-29 dan SU-30 menunjukkan Russia tidak dapat menghantar alat-alat ganti bila diperlukan. Saya syorkan Malaysia cuba beli pesawat stealth J-31 dari Cina.
