Roti canai is in fact quite a wholesome food coz it has carb from the roti itself, the protein from dhal gravy and also the egg if you go for the roti telur. When I was studying for my final exam during my student days, i would go for two pieces of roti telur and that would be suffice to fuel my whole day activities.

And the only language we learned at school was English and so I came to England to further my studies as a a teenager. Let's say a long time ago now, but, like many, I miss Malaysia every day and can only watch all these wonderful YT videos and dream of enjoying the best cuisine on earth! In malaysia there are 2 types of roti canai. Mamak (indian) type & Malay type. The difference between both is malay type added a bit condensed milk to the roti batter. So there'll be a touch of a sweetness to the roti. I believe the roti you ate was the malay type.

Has anyone tried Roti Canai made from "Atta" or wholemeal flour (used in making capati)? Its a healthier option (more fibre, unpolished wheat etc). My mum used to make that at home. Tastes different from the plain Roti Canai which is made using white wheat flour. For me, aside from Dhall curry, it goes well with spicy & sourish fish curry.

I thought we Malaysia only when going foreign country will being cheat, nowadays for Chinese we will being cheat also, but not everyone place, recall 10year ago I eat at malay shop I take only 3lauk,no fish, only friend chick, egg and kangkung, it charge me Rm7.80..futhermore it around kampung area.. Just be careful... Know the price well.. Malaysia food can be more cheaper..
