Wish you could see the local Malaysian car brand scenes , the Proton and Perodua , the influence of JDM on the brands , local Malaysia car culture , hope you stay longer in Malaysia , we welcome you with open hands , keep it up Larry Chen💪🏼
@helicocktor11 күн бұрын
The Japanese influence pretty much died when Geely bought Proton. Or rather, when Proton became a sellout to China. Geely cars are _fine_ and they drive _okay_ but they have about as much character and soul as a piece of mineral. They're just an appliance. The Suprima was the last Proton with a character, and even then it was shit because its main saving grace, the manual gearbox, was never even sold in Malaysia. Proton couldn't make a great car if their lives depended on it, and it wasn't because we never had the talent. The idiots who guided the company just kept on making terrible decisions.

Technically, KL is the capital of Malaysia, also a Federal Territory inside Selangor state. Originally, Petaling Jaya is the largest suburb just outside of KL and now probably could be called a city i think.
@tenka__Ай бұрын
PJ (Petaling Jaya) is the largest city of Selangor state, although not the capital of the state (that's Shah Alam). PJ received city status in 2006.
@bonhamhensleyАй бұрын
yeah it's confusing for foreigners because when I went there and strolling around sometimes it's KL, sometimes it's Shah Alam, sometimes it's Petaling Jaya and all that's in a relatively small area.

I think the comments for PJ is not a state are from non local to PJ. People referring to Petaling Jaya as PJ State for a very long time... Just search for PJ State Chinese Methodist School and there are a lot of businesses premise that use PJ State for their business location.... like KFC PJ State, Affin Bank PJ State, Maybank PJ State etc.

@@BboyBlackout car prices in SEA is ridiculously high due to car and part tax imports so its really hard to be an enthusiast that actually own a car. Besides, the minimum wage in SEA is also pretty low compared to car prices. In SEA, you have to work your butt off for years to own a car. I'm taking Indonesia as example. Only the ultra wealthy that owns a business/generational wealth can do this kind of stuff. Larry has made a video on Hagerty about this, I'd suggest you watch it! Its a good video.
