Most wise foreign residents have already abandoned Malaysia as a place to retire or remote work. Only KL is liveable, but laws in Malaysia becoming more conservative, and the Bumi quota system discriminates (and elevates corruption). But still OK and enjoyable for an inexpensive holiday.

in case anyone has no idea what this person is talking, i'm guessing he/she is referring to the Bumiputera policies. m'sia "modifies" or "upgrades" itself every year. but as long as these policies are in effect, their talents and skilled workers get brain drained by the country beneath them.
