Wah tuan, very detailed analysis on Malaysia's journey to high-income status! 💪 Totally agree the ringgit strength and high-value jobs are crucial. Semiconductors punya potential pun nampak sangat promising - proud Malaysia dah jadi top exporter. Tapi betul la, politics and policies memang selalu jadi halangan. Harap kita boleh terus maju dengan plan jangka panjang ni. Keep up the good content! 🔥👏

Hi, I’m very curious. May I ask some challenging questions? If everything explained here seems so straightforward, why is Malaysia still a middle-income country? What actions did our previous prime ministers take to improve the economy? Were they not implementing the policies mentioned in the video to help Malaysia transition to a high-income nation? If they didn’t, why not? And if they did, why did those policies fail, and why is Malaysia still a middle-income country today?

Hi ziet, thanks again for the informative video! With all of these good news for Malaysia, there is high hopes of the Malaysian ringgit appreciating against the USD. Althought this is a good thing in general, it will lead to a decrease in ROI on US ETF investments such as the S&P 500 due to forex loss and could even potentially lead to losses for Malaysians. What are your thoughts on this?

If part of the equation being in a high income nation is currency exchange rate to USD, then the RM movement will always change our status. If only a few thousand people move into high income bracket and others are left behind then there is no point of attaining the position. So how many people need to earn the required salary should also take into consideration.

I'm more aware of "SUSTAINABLE WEALTH" instead of "Economic Miracle". We Malaysian need to make sure to grow our economy and standardizing productive lifestyles. We should be focused on how to tackle our declining population. Make sure that our TFR stay above 2.1 (replacement rate). Malay TFR was 2.3, Indian 1.0, Chinese 0.9. This is a good advantages that Malaysia have but Japan, Korea and Singapore didn't. Malays did a great job on TFR but Chinese was good at economic wise. How to "balance" this uniqueness?

US is issuing USD120bil of new bonds at 4.9%. Higher interest rate in US led global currencies to fall including MYR currently. Trump's tariff policy will result in high inflation, which means high interest rate in US will remain and hence MYR will continue to be weaker vs USD.

We don't need to be high income country but its better to be low price goods and stuff nation. Imagine during Tun Dr. M 20 years in Bn as PM, nasi lemak was Rm 1.20 and Chicken rice is Rm 2.50. Today the Nasi lemak is Rm 4 and Chicken rice is Rm 8.50. What is the point have high income when everything is so pricey ??

You need to brush up your economy 101.. Inflation is inevitable and it is a sign of growth. A deflation economy is a sign of slow or no growth which is happening right now in China with high unemployment rate. Do you prefer cheaper price or no job? What makes our good so expensive is because of our weak currency and our energy price is dependent on global market. In order to catch up to the rest of the world, we need to step up.. When you say you wish Nasi Lemak to be sold at RM1.2, why not ask your parents how much was a Nasi Lemak back in the 80s? They will say how they wish Nasi Lemak is only 30 cents.. My days Nasi Lemak was 30 cents and now you tell me RM1.2 is cheap?

@eugp4198 no Malaysia isn't ready for that yet. Its sad to see the current leaders in Malaysia is more interested in quarrelling than to make the country better. Malaysia need to export more and import less. The biggest problem is the current leaders has no ideas but their so called formula minister said they have formula. What's their formula? Water bill up the price,? electricity bill up the price? Contributing investors all run away to the nearest neighbouring country. The rakyat is fed-up of everything is going up on price. I can't get the job done it's better for the current leaders to step down.

I haven't been able to see the relation of attraction global business to elevate the income of citizens. The investments pouring into Malaysia, doesn't flow to employees in a consistent way i.e. income/pay. Also, global business can establish a base of operations in Malaysia, while still paying below average or on market salaries. You can upskill someone but that doesn't guarantee increase in income if employers are not willing to pay for it. And eventually when everyone has the same skills or qualifications, it'll still come down to the same point. Not to forget, when business pay employees more, this additional cost is usually transferred to ends consumers, and thus increasing cost of living. So how do they measure "high income nation"? If high income is met with a higher cost of living, does it still mean the same thing? I could be missing information to connect the dots, so maybe someone can share some perspectives to help me understand better =)

@@Tee.S.H.Impoverished Chinese immigrants and refugees should understand that relying on Western models is a recipe for disaster. During the 100 million Great Chinese Famine, millons of chinese sought mercy and found help from the Malay people, while others faced indifference from fellow Chinese and Western powers. 100 millions Chinese means roughly in comparison of 20 x the population of Malays during that time alone. Just to clarify for some of the viewers, High Income country is NOT equal to First World/Developed Country. High income is not equal to first world country. There are criteria to meet in order to be first world. Brunei, Kuwait, Saudi are high income nation but not first world. They are just rich because of oil but not very developed in other areas. Even though Malaysia may achieve high income nation, but will never be first world due to gender inequality, racial inequality, wealth gap, lack of R&D and high value industry etc. We are like the middle east heavily rely on oil export
